Misc changes
  • Fixed a bug where one of the Doomlord attacks was using Eidolon's voice.
  • Toned down the FX on Doomlord's Shadow Embrace attack.
  • Takofanes' Might of the Dead aura now causes vehicles to malfunction. Vehicles are now disabled during the Defeat Takofanes the Undying phase of the Thrash of the Lich King open mission. This was done as they were causing unintended behavior during that phase of the fight.
  • Fixed a bug where healing runes were not healing other players.
  • Bloodmoon has been extended until 10am, Monday morning.

Why even have vehicles in the game anymore if they're just going to be made less and less viable during every event with an open mission? :/

Hm. The only behavior I saw was 'everything dies!', which might well be overpowered, but doesn't seem inherently distinct from the intent of the fight.

What unintended behavior? Being able to kill doomlords quickly despite the tunnelers and trolls best efforts? There have been times, especially late at night, when there were so many tunnelers that it was almost impossible to kill a doomlord before two additional doomlords spawned.

Because I like to use them to travel around at high speeds.

I see some people are under the impression that vehicles made that fight go faster. I mean, the players who had vehicles that actually made the fight go faster are also the players who also made the fight go faster while on foot but decided to use vehicle from time to time to be lazy.

I would assume that the unintended behavior was Tako priority targetting vehicles with the red AoE bubble that knocked people back, since those were only aimed at vehicles.

that would explain why I usually saw it in the sky....

This seems perfectly genre-appropriate. The JLA shows up for a fight, the Batplane gets shot down early. The Avengers go to fight someone, Hawkeye's skybike gets blown out from under him by page three.

What are tunnelers and how are they trolling? Just curious.

I have not seen many trolls at Tako fights. I have seen people start the boss phase too early.....before enough people were gathered to take it on, but I assume most of those early starts were mistakes as opposed to intentional trolling.

"Tunnelers" typically refers to the players (usually doing the job of DPS) who develop tunnel vision during the fight and ignore mechanics, such as chasing and killing Doomlords, in favor of attacking the boss. Ignoring mechanics generally results in undesirable consequences for everyone, including the tunnelers, such as a prolonged fight or outright failure.

Ahhh... that makes sense. For some, I think they don't know the mechanics and just blast at what seems like the most important target. But yes, frustrating when the fight is lost.

People are getting it, just very rarely, so it's selling for very, very high values.

Rare things are rare. I don't have a Therakiel's Blade, either.

Bug, or a Stealth Nerf: The Matter-Energy Union Advantage on Electric Sheath gives a smaller shield then it did before. At level 40 I was getting a 10k Shield, now it's only 3.5k

Did your specs change? It might scale with shielding strength.

Nope. I have 3 characters with it. Cybernetic Warrior AT, a FF Electric Tank, and a FF Tech Healer. All 3 of them had a 10k Shield at level 40. When I went into an alert and got scaled back to 30, the Shield Strength dropped to 7k, it was scaling with level. If this was unintended behavior, it had been that way since the Electric Rebalancing patch.

Considering how fast absorption shields are lost, this sounds like a very, very bad "fix", especially for the AT's that use it. On my Tempest, it was a big help at times; if this isn't some kind of break and was intended, then I'm glad I erased my Tempest due to the other changes, as this would have frustrated me to no end.

I suppose a somewhat logical explanation was that this shield wasn't keyed off Presence and was changed to be...which makes no sense when you consider the AT's that use it don't have Presence. But I haven't seen anything to confirm it.

It doesn't scale off Presence, either. All three of them have a 3.5k Shield now when they use it, and my Tech Based Healer is Presence Primary.

Heh, so much for that theory then.
