ok so a week ago I was in a TA grp where the tank was explaining to the offtank that his regen build would be better as a presence tank to which I inquired what would be a good example of a presence tank as starting several years ago I was advised never to have presence as a superstat on a tank. in fact before the forums change I had a post asking a few questions and was told presence never had any benefit for a tank unless you were building a solo character. Now in modern CO I know CC tanks use pre and asked before the question about an example if he was talking about a cc tank and he said no. He told me he would explain it to me after we beat the mission. Well we didn't beat the mission he logged in frustration because the OT could not survive and we could not find a new OT. I have not seen said person on since and was wondering what a good example of a presence tank would be and why would it be better for a regen tank.
I don't duel anymore since the level 6 hit my level 8 for 15k in one shot instantly

Heavenly HW Tank
edit: Pre has no effect on Regen as far as I know, but can still be useful in other ways.

A Pres-based tank can still be made (not a CC tank, although that's another valid use- just a normal tank). Support-tanks, and/or tanks that use Compassion and a automated heal to proc it (ie. Quick Healing/Recovery, Sentinel Aura, Regen, an attack+heal like DE, etc.) can be Pres-focused, though they're a bit of an oddity.

The main tank held his tanking rather well and did a fairly good amount of tanking the adds also when the OT died. I am looking for an idea of how presence tanks work since he was going to explain building concepts around it, the lack of another OT avail when it became apparent that the OT we had could not tank the adds was what caused the eventual incompletion of the dungeon. We made it all the way to telios.
