Ego blade dps

I was looking at the previous post for Psiblede, and it looks fun. Never had an Ego Blade build before. Since I have a costume concept in mind, I'd like to try a similar build. However, I'm not a fan of PFF, and I like to run DPS. So, could someone give me a build for Ego Blade dps, please Funny, even after reading the previous post threads, I don't even know if I should use DEX or EGO as PSS.

Why Dex/Rec/Con instead of Ego/End/Con? Would that change if you were going to make a tankier version? I'm pretty new, but building most of my heroes freeform, I am struggling to build the super stats correctly. Currently running an Ego Blades/Defiance hybrid to run as a tanky duo with a friend. I grabbed Con to be tankier and stack with defiance, Ego for damage on the ego blades, and End so I can run maintained powers like EBF (shield adv) as long as I need. Are these choices going to gimp my character?

My own build for Cosmics and stuff, really good DPS with Ego Prim, gear all for dex, got some healing in there with Conviction and Empathic, can switch Empathic for something else if you want,

Unfortunately this is where Cryptic Math (tm) can mislead newer players. Ego as a stat does affect TK Blade dmg (as it affects ranged dmg), but this innate dmg bonus is in the earliest layer of the dmg formulas, soft-caps at a value of 70 (diminishes to a quarter of its return after that), and passive dmg bonuses as a whole are subject to their own DR. So, although gearing for much Ego can boost the dmg, its not needed at all to have good dps w/ TK blades (or ranged builds). Similar story w/ Str and most melee builds..

Further, the new TK forms scale w/ Dex instead of Ego, and TK's old Energy Unlock was changed to scale from Ego to Rec.

Kinda silly that an 'Ego' set ends up scaling better w/ Dex (for its forms/toggles) and Rec (for its EU), but it is what it is.

You can still take Ego PSS for TK blades, if you want, but that's more for its PSS tree than for Ego as a stat. EGO/Dex/Con could work- talent for some Rec, and you may not have energy issues if gear is good enough. By that measure, though, any other PSS could work (like Str PSS for Juggernaut and/or Overpower, Physical Peak, and extra knock resist).

Thank you! I'm trying to build a solid hybrid build for PvE, and Defiance has been a good passive to play with. Is it better to build with an offensive passive and rely on EBF's shield for survivability? Maybe a Dex/Con/Rec build?

Yeah that can work for a solo build w/ Defiance. You won't be as tanky as build using Str PSS w/ Juggernaut or Con PSS, and you're still a bit knock prone, but blocking can help mitigate the latter, and most solo/quest content isn't going to stress survival as much.
