Hey folks! So I've recently returned to the game and just like most everyone who saw a certain awesome movie like 20 times, I wanted to recreate my favorite "Merc with a Mouth". Honestly I've always been drawn to the Specialist AT but the idea always seemed better than the reality and now I know why! There's no thematically appropriate MA+Technology passive! I say "thematically appropriate" because Night Warrior does buff both melee and ranged damage, but Deadpool is not a ninja! With the current, non-stealth, passives you have to sacrifice melee damage or ranged and what's the point? There isn't, you'd just make an MA OR a ranged build!
So please devs, if you actually read these and have any f$#%* left in your bag of f@#%$, may we please have this?!?
Ultimately you don't really need your damage bonus to be equal to both melee and ranged powers in order to make an effective mixed melee/range toon. If you're planning to do endgame stuff where dps matters you would just need your dps bonus to be highest on whatever you use for single target dpsing. If you're not planning to do endgame stuff then it barely even matters and you just have to decide where you need your highest damage in order to get through "panic situations" - a generally applicable idea is that since most everything non-endgame can just easily be mowed down with aoe, you would just put the highest damage bonus on whatever you're gonna be using for aoe.
Or you can use AotM and sacrifice a tiny amount of damage bonus on both, and energy gain. Just remember to rank it up to rank 3.
