Target-less TK Wave

maatmonsmaatmons Posts: 347 Arc User1
So often, I want to aim my cone to catch two enemies who are a ways apart. The trouble is, I can't, because that would require centering the cone on the empty space between them. And the power can only be centered on a target.

I can't imagine I'm the only one running up against this. Anyone who takes the Mental Instability advantage on TK Wave does so to take enemies who are spread out, and clump them together. And it's hard to get several spread-out enemies in the cone if you have to hope for one of the enemies to just happen to stand in the spot you want to center it on.

Could we get the ability to fire off TK Wave without a target selected? It could just work like all the other non-targeted cones, and go the way my character is facing. Or, at least, could the power change to be target-less when the Mental Instability advantage is taken?

Or you could get instead the Coward's Lament from Bloodmoon event which is TK Wave with the knock towards perk and doesn't require a target.

A device is no substitute for an actual power.

In this case it is a direct substitute. Same vfx, same damage type, with the exact functionality the op desires.

I appreciate you guys trying to find me an alternative, but the 3-minute cooldown is a dealbreaker for me.

3 Minutes? I have 2 devices on 2 separate characters, one is 26sec and the other is 24sec, and only one of them use INT as a super stat.

Yeah they revamped the Bloodmoon Devices and gave them new Cooldowns
Coward's Lament is like 23 seconds in my build and it's really useful both for utility and theme
just be aware that the device hits the things you are facing with your camera instead of the locked target

Well since that's exactly what he was asking for, I think he'd be fine with it. :p

Oh, well that's good. Those old cooldowns were all way too long.

I'll probably give the device a try. Are they doing Bloodmoon once per month these days? I've been away for awhile.

That's odd. I thought untargeted powers went where your character was facing, not where your camera was facing. Or am I the only one who unchecks “always face forward?”

I haven't seen a monthly bloodmoon since last year, I guess now it's the signature event of Halloween? But I think you could get the device from the Auction House or from another player, just be careful with the price because last year there was a conversion of the drops from the undead heroes so there are limited 1 time use and permanent versions.

Last year? There hasn't been a monthly bloodmoon in 4 or 5 years, and thank Destroyer in for that for that.
