Mutant Football League

I made this concept the other day.

I plan on giving it that spiked maul hand from the Malvan event once I acquire one, now I just need a fitting build for it. Ideas for the AT are:

Bestial Fury
Antagonize
Bite
Pounce
Howl
Thrash
Massacre
Eviscerate
Wield Earth
Land Slide (It kinda looks like a football tackle)
Uppercut
Haymaker
Venomous Breath
Imaginary weapon selected for:
Bludgeon
Eruption
Decimate
Annihilate
Arc of Ruin
Skewer
Vicious Descent

I'd prob go w/ Fighting Claws to capitalize on the spiky gauntlet:

    (Unnamed Build) - Freeform

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Dexterity (Primary)
    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Intelligence (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Glacier (Con: 10, End: 10, Dex: 8, Int: 10)
Level 6: Covert Ops Training (Str: 3, Dex: 3, Con: 3, Int: 3)
    Level 9: Acrobat (Dex: 5, Con: 5)
Level 12: Healthy Mind (Con: 5, Int: 5)
    Level 15: Coordinated (Dex: 5, Int: 5)
Level 18: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 21: Impresario (Dex: 5, Rec: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Wield Earth
    Level 1: Viper's Fangs (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 6: Unstoppable (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 8: Form of the Tempest
    Level 11: Conviction (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 14: Molecular Self-Assembly
    Level 17: Pounce (Furious Rush)
    Level 20: Brimstone (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 23: Dragon's Claws (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 26: Resurgence (Rank 2)
    Level 29: Retaliation (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 32: Imbue
    Level 35: Rebirth
    Level 38:
    Adv. Points: 28/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Dexterity: Gear Utilization (3/3)
    Dexterity: Power Swell (2/2)
    Dexterity: Deadly Aim (3/3)
    Dexterity: Expose Weakness (2/2)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Mastery: Dexterity Mastery (1/1)

Can use Brimstone for AoE (and some CC), and the claw attacks for single-target. Gears mostly for Dex and Con, w/ some Int for MSA.

Looks pretty good to me. :) What could be a good alternative if I wanted to put the maul on only the right hand and have a more Tanky build with heavy weapon strikes and Bestial powers like Howl?

    Here's a HW tank w/ a touch of Bestial:

So at long last I finally got my gladiator hand costume piece. However, heavy invisible weapon no longer works because the maul is gigantic, so I had to put one on both hands and shrink the size down considerably.

Now i'd like to find a bestial build to suit the concept. Either a tank or DPS build would be fine, so long as it's teeth and claws only and no weapons like the infernal chain. (although invisible martial arts claws would be okay too)

Alright. Here's a Bestial dps build:

    (Unnamed Build) - Freeform
    v2.2.3-24

    Super Stats
    Level 6: Strength (Primary)
    Level 10: Constitution (Secondary)
    Level 15: Endurance (Secondary)

    Talents
    Level 1: The Devastator (Con: 10, End: 8, Str: 10, Rec: 10)
Level 6: Physical Conditioning (Str: 5, Con: 5)
Level 9: Boundless Reserves (Con: 5, End: 5)
    Level 12: Bodybuilder (Str: 5, End: 5)
Level 15: Quick Recovery (Con: 5, Rec: 5)
    Level 18: Relentless (Str: 5, Rec: 5)
Level 21: Amazing Stamina (Rec: 5, End: 5)

    Powers
    Level 1: Bestial Fury
Level 1: Shred (Rank 2, Penetrating Strikes)
    Level 6: Supernatural Power
Level 8: Aspect of the Bestial
    Level 11: Pestilence (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 14: Frenzy (Rank 2, Fear Sense)
    Level 17: Thrash (Rank 2, Rank 3)
Level 20: Eviscerate (Rank 2, Messy)
    Level 23: Pounce (Furious Rush)
    Level 26: Resurgence (Rank 2)
    Level 29: Antagonize (Rank 2)
    Level 32: Aggressor (Rank 2)
Level 35: Unleashed Rage (Rank 2, Rank 3)
    Level 38: Rebirth
    Adv. Points: 32/36

    Travel Powers
    Level 6:
    Level 35:

    Specializations
    Strength: Swole (2/3)
    Strength: Physical Peak (3/3)
    Strength: Brutality (2/2)
    Strength: Juggernaut (2/3)
    Strength: Overpower (1/3)
    Warden: Fortified Gear (3/3)
    Warden: Ruthless (2/2)
    Warden: Upper Hand (2/3)
    Warden: The Best Defense (3/3)
    Vindicator: Aggressive Stance (2/2)
    Vindicator: Merciless (3/3)
    Vindicator: Focused Strikes (3/3)
    Vindicator: Mass Destruction (2/3)
    Mastery: Strength Mastery (1/1)

Shred puts Shredded and bleeds, Thrash is ur main filler, while Evis taps refresh the two debuffs (and proc AotB). Frenzy and UR can be used for AoE. Gears mostly for Str and some Con + Rec/End.

Looks pretty good, although is there substitute for Unleashed Rage and Pestilence? I dislike the constant noise it emits :pensive: Is Howl worth taking at all? I like it for thematic reasons but if it doesn't apply a significant debuff/buff then I can skip it.

Would Will of The Tiger Cub be a good device addition or is it redundant?
  • flowcytoflowcyto Posts: 12,742 Arc User
You don't have to take UR if you don't want an ult. Pestilence can also be changed, though iirc the 'constant noise' you are referring to was an old aura effect that it (and other passives) hasn't had for a long while.

Howl has some utility by applying Furious to allies in an area and Fear to enemies (and can KD w/ an adv), but I wouldn't really consider it a core ability for a Bestial build either.

Also, Will of the Tiger Cub's Shredded won't stack w/ the normal version, so I prob wouldn't bother w/ it.

  • Oh I was thinking of Aspect of the Infernal, that has a noise what doesn't stop when the toggle is active.

Afaik, the AotI aura effect has also been removed (thankfully).
