Other MMOs set up their invasion events where invasion-related encounters happen in intervals, giving newbies enough opportunities to complete their regular missions in areas where the event encounters spawn points are. There are also visual / audio warning cues just before the encounter is about the begin.
The problem with how the event in CO is structured is that event mobs are persistent, and let's face it, the dailies may recommend for anyone to complete them in team sizes of at least 3, but there is no way a 3-man team of fresh level 6 to 10 players are going to handle any of the elite worm and horror groups. It's clearly focused on giving the higher levels that have more developed builds a challenging fight.
If the event is intended to be all-inclusive so that anyone regardless of levels can properly participate, it's going to mean compromising horror / worm mob difficulty. Colossus difficulty can remain since it's going to be done by huge masses of players anyway that include a wide level range.
I take this quote from a review that I agree with.
"customisation is so linear; everyone is after the optimal dps:survivability ratio with 0 reliance on other players = autonomous gameplay... Players don't need each other anymore... which in my opinion is a bad thing."
Is this intended, Hurricane doesn't have escalating damage anymore, it's flat out.
Likely unintended but hopefully there'll be some word on that soon.
I did some halfass testing and I can confirm that they change the Hurricane so that it does not damage while the enemy isn't in the Line of Sight. I can only conclude that while they were fixing this, they notice the damage it was doing and they tweak that.
