Paladin II - Ranged TK Support

No matter what, this is a build I always return to. In support role it does enough damage to be competitive with someone in DPS role w/Offensive Passive. This build heals for an impressive amount and is self-sustaining. Empathic healing does double-duty as both a heal-other and heal-self power.

Based on Man-of-Light's old Gem Star build -- it still holds up after all these years. Ranged TK is still a much underrated set IMHO. Not too many players use it and the devs mostly ignore it. Which in this case has probably been a good thing. The Seraphim passive boosting both DPS and Heals is actually pretty amazing. Because of this PRE isn't needed as a super stat. I gear mostly for EGO w/ some PRE & REC plus a some crit chance. Oh and Exploit Opening really shines here.

The first 2 powers are really boring to use imo. Maybe that's why TK is underrated it feels boring for most people?

One of my toons is based around that same Gem Star build. If there's one thing she's weak at, it's ranged AoE. I gotta work in TK Burst or something sometime. Would love to get Lance Rain, but that requires me to grind for Villain tokens...

TK Burst is better now that it properly interacts w/ most toggles. Anyways, ranged TK builds like this are still good; I suspect many players are turned off by TKA's visual bugs (which I assume are still present).

Hmm... I've been turned off to TK burst for quite some time. I might need to try that!!!!

And yeah the visual glitches are annoying. But TK is the closest thing to a "hard light" type build in the game. Which is the concept for this toon. His concept is a cross between Green Lantern and Dagger of "Cloak and Dagger" fame.

Thanks as usual Flow... you always have cool perspectives to offer.

Do you run this in Support or Hybrid for alerts?

You can run it in either- comes down to more personal dps vs. more healing power.. though I may opt for Hybrid usually if I didn't want the stigma of being seen as a healer (and the backbone of this build is more dps than support oriented anyways). Seraphim's main use here is mostly in boosting ur own dps and healing- not so much the ally healing aura, which is prob why he didn't put much stock into Pres here. If you want to play Support w/ one of the other auras that's better for allies (like AoRP, AoPM, etc) then you'd prob want to put Pres SS & gearing back into the build.

I run it mostly in support for the vast majority of content. The energy management and dps in support mode is just nuts. It's fine in hybrid too-- but it's kind of fun doing all that dps in support mode. Healing isn't really needed in most alerts, but you can toss out a pity heal or a res if needed. But since I mostly solo in CO-- support mode it is. Conviction crits filling up your health bar frequently is worth it.
