Launcher isn't launching the game

So I had one of those relativity standard game crashes upon teleporting back to the Ren Center some 30 minutes ago, and I've tried re-entering the game several times now, but the game launcher is stuck on a non existent patching cycle. Am I alone in this or is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Well I had to delete the Live Folder to get back in.

if i get booted but not to the desktop. I have to go right out of the game and back in, or it gets stuck like that.​​

Now i'm stuck 'Patching'......
Passing the Launcher and going in game that way and exiting seemed to fix that.​​

In STO, if you ever have a patching button that's lit up in blue, it means the game has decided, usually for unfathomable reasons, to wait for you to give it permission to patch.

Think of Windows of being perpetually scared of bad software so it passes the buck by continually asking you whether you want to do want you just tried to do.
