A very simple, very stupid idea.

Give Free Form characters the same diminishing returns as Archetypes and then re-balance all the powers accordingly....for science and great victory!

I'd rather they just fix the stat scaling to work the same for both. then maybe think about rebalancing the rest later.

Actually, the way to fix AT DR is known. It just opens up a can of worms for rebalancing the truly bad ATs.

Why? Because it'd force them to actually address the underlying issues with the ATs and Powersets? That's hardly a bad thing. In fact, it would remove a few of the excuses they have made for not fixing certain things...

It wouldn't force them to do anything, they're already addressing AT issues so no excuses needed. More likely than not the fix is being delayed until ATs are ready for it.

Honestly I like things being unbalanced so long as it's inconsistently unbalanced. Sometimes Infernal's OP, no wait now it's Tractor Beam and pets and confuse powers, now fire destroys everything.

It kind of feels right for a superhero game that superpowers are inconsistent and sometimes get more powerful sometimes are not.

It's not a common opinion, but I have also enjoyed the changing and shifting nature of balance in CO.
