Leaping Flames?

So, now this effect might be a problem for the Eidelon fight. Clinging Flames lasts several seconds. Does Leaping Flames only proc on the first tick, or on all of them? What I am concerned about is applying CF with Conflag or whatever during the damage phases, and then having the LF proc during the Shadow Crystal heal phase and wake them up. Since my main is a full Fire build, this could have a serious impact on my ability to participate in the fight. What is the ruling on this?

Personally, I would be happy if they just removed Leaping Flames from Clinging Flames. It's basically a negligible effect in the vast majority of content. And, now if it is going to cripple Fire in this fight, just dump it. Maybe toss on a couple extra pips of damage to CF to compensate, or heck, don't, wouldn't bother me, either way. Just get rid of it.

what about making it so that the "white screen flash attack" [or whatever it's called] cancel out all active DoTs on the boss....and maybe make it hold all the players for about ~3 seconds..to make people really take notice of it.

This is also a good idea.

That was the plan for some time now, and the most recent patch is supposed to have done that.

The Eidolon is supposed to cleanse himself of all debuffs when he spawns the red orbs, so clinging flames (and as a result, fire builds) should no longer be a problem.

This will help a few other powers as well.

Tell me about it... My main is a fire build.

When I was on the test server fighting Eidolon no one said anything about there being a problem with clinging/leaping flames.
Flash forward to the live server and me trying to help in a fight and suddenly my clinging flames are waking up orbs at every turn.

It was something that could have been fixed if the melee toons would just run away every time Eidolon showed that he was getting ready to bring the orbs in, but in a fight that some people have enough trouble with already, adding that responsibility to some people seemed to be asking for trouble so I put my main on the shelf for those.

I did not like it, but I wasn't going to make it that much more difficult to complete the run for others and am generally not a fan of become devices.
I considered maybe a retcon, turning my fire character into a light (celestial) character, but I knew that the fix was in the works and I would want to revert back to fire after the changes went live, so I decided to just wait. At least unless I saw that the fix was going to be a long time coming.

Ironically, I finally managed to be a part of a successful Eidolon takedown (twice, no less) using that fire toon (no other toon has had any success) but in both cases they were brute-force takedowns; Opting to destroy the orbs rather than CC them, so the fire fix had zero impact on the runs.
