Also, saw a funny piece while searching for that where a journalist asked Richard Dean Anderson which of the gimmicks from the classic show he found most silly.... The answer was surprising to me. His was the use of a bicycle frame as the magnesium for a cutting torch. But in hindsight it makes sense. No one uses PURE magnesium for a structural material. Which is what you'd need for that gimmick to work.

I like that the V is a pocket knife. MacGyver didn't use guns, kind of a fun change from the standard action hero, and while the stories and inventions were often silly, the overall message was kind of cool.

I loved the original. While I admit I am intrigued to see a remake of the show, I am not going to set my hopes too high for it to be good. Remakes are often hit or miss.​​

Yeah, I'm kinda expecting people to rag on it for having stupid gimmicky tricks pulled off..... meh. As Mr. Anderson pointed out, the original had a lot of dumb moments too. Some of the tricks worked but didn't quite get explained right in the show.

One commercial I saw for it had him.... mixed with some other character.... which confused me.
