5 new devices get added to the game, rings [or whatever else you want to name/make them] one befitting each mod slot type, so that's armoring, enhancements, offensive, defensive and utility... these rings would have 1 mod slot in them allowing you to install any mod [for the slot type] of any rank into them, and when the ring is toggled on, you get the stat boost from the mod you installed, and while the device has no duration limit, meaning you could keep it on indefinitely, it would have a 30 second cd after being turned off.. but that's not all, they would also have a slight penalty for use.
Armoring ring: Your cool-downs are increased by X%
Enhancement ring: Your crit chance is reduced by X%
Offence ring: You take X% more damage
Defense ring: You deal X% less damage
Utility ring: Your power charge speed is increased by X%
X% would be calculated based on the rank of the mod installed, with a rank 9 mod making it 10% and a rank 1 mod making it 2%
Reason for the Penalty's would be to not make the device a straight [if somewhat expensive to outfit] upgrade, but rather a slight trade-off.
