Cosmic Attack Rate

This one is very plain and simple.

Decrease the attack rate on the cosmics by about 2 seconds, thus giving the the tanks time to actually use charged attacks to their fullest potential.

as it currently stands, the cosmics attack rate only really allows for combo attacks and tap-fired charge attacks...

Yeah some things are broken... no I don't use/abuse them.. where would be the fun in that?

  • That would be very convenient for my Behemoth, but I fear that by doing this, you would be decreasing the difficulty, since their dps would be significantly lower, and there would be fewer opportunities for missed blocks. And if you increased their damage to compensate, that would cause other problems. For example, difficulty would increase because missed blocks would be more likely to be an instant kill, and it would be harder for characters that are durable but not-quite-tanky to temporarily split damage and buy time if one of the tanks die (which does happen; I've done it a few times).

    sure their overall dps would go down a bit, but per hit they would still hit l;ike a truck, so thing's wouldn't exsactly get easier.. jsut slower in the whole combat department.

  • Yes, but the less often they hit you, the lower the chances of you missing a block.

    So what if you get your block in more easily. The battle should be fun for the tanks to. Blocking most of the time is not fun.
  • The developers are unlikely to implement a suggestion that makes the fight easier, unless it is to fix a bug (such as the sliding, which is something I would much rather they focus on).

    it's less make it easier and more make it viable for charge attacks as well as combo powers... atm it's jsut viable for combo powers.

  • I actually find it easier to use Haymakers than Defensive Combos on her.

    And regardless of the intent, the practical effect of this idea would be to make it easier, and it's unlikely that the developers would go for that.

    Not just haymakers, but charge powers in general tend to eaither take too long to fire off and get a block up, of have barely a ~0.2 second gap to get a full charge off and block...

    the alternative would be to remove the ~1.5 second delay between pressing block and it acivating fully.

    Having difficulty using charged attacks is standard for reasonably challenging tanking content; all the higher end bosses spam stuff that you want to block. It also cause problems for maintains that ramp up over the duration of the maintain. Not sure there's any really practical way to fix it that doesn't just make tanking super-easy, though.

    Any charge speed bonus sufficient to make much difference will give a crazy damage bonus to tanks. Why is tapping so very bad?

    If you're skilled, you can get full charges out. Git gud.
