Can someone explain what this device does exactly? I'm a bit confused due to how it's laid out, and since it's a) quite expensive to get and b) the perk alone is a pain to get, I want to make sure it's actually worth it and does not act as a detriment to myself.
2 Sec <- For what?
1 Sec activate time (20 max) <- Again, what?
Affects Foe (5 Max)
5 foot sphere
1 minute 22 second recharge
Toggling on this device grants you the following effects:
+25% resistance to all damage (Sweet!)
Deals 290 Particle Damage every 2 seconds (To myself?! What about that 5 foot sphere of affecting up to 5 enemies?)
Has a 25% chance to apply Plasma Burn every 2 seconds. (Same as the damage)
UPDATE: So I found out there is a temporary version of the device that works the same, it just worded more reasonably and it works like I hoped, doing the damage to enemies within the 5 foot sphere. Not much of a range, but when you're a tank and supposedly having enemies swarming you, it should be enough, but that +25% damage resist is the big draw for me, the damage is just icing.
