Give Grond the Cosmic treatment

Aside from the first few days of nonstop leroys and a few bugs here and there, Cosmics are going well. People are actually doing them again.

So, give Grond the same treatment. Having a fourth "new" cosmic around will also mean less wait between cosmic fights.

And really, when was the last time anyone actually did Grond? He's in the game, let's make him worth fighting.

Kais wanted to, but no time and of course he has some wonky stuff about him.

Invisigrond has always been a classic. Also, unless his path gets changed so he doesn't wander through low level areas, he should likely get the scary monster treatment.

I dunno if he would keep his jumping about, after all the OM thing, so more than likely Grond would be given a more permanent spot to inhabit and rampage in.

Why not just make the jumping part a stage? After doing a certain amount of damage, like 66%, he will jump to a specific location that would give him an advantage? Otherwise, he would just jump and heal, jump and heal.

How about making his rampaging area simply very large, and he jumps from place to place within the area.

  • and then you get people bitching about having to travel all over a massive map just to fight one enemy...not that you don't with the current grond, but at least now he can be taken down BEFORE he jumps even once with a decently-built hero

This is not true. Perhaps with a team of very high damage characters, you could. But with a single character you can't do enough damage to defeat him in one stage. Coupled with the complicated paths he takes, and having no way of knowing if you were too early or too late arriving to a specific location, it becomes very nearly impossible to solo him.

Well, strictly speaking, he doesn't have to have an open mission and all that (though having him not run around would remove one of the main barriers to fighting him). All he actually has to do is drop gcr (though I would personally like him to be more difficult as well, and maybe with an easier path to follow, where he has to remain in any given spawn spot for a certain amount of time before moving again unless he takes X amount of damage).

He won't drop GCR until he is made more difficult. I doubt he will drop SCR in his current state. He is too easily soloable by just about any build barring those that intentionally sabotage their damage. Even my blaster, who is not built for defensive and is quite squishy, solo'd him. The only barrier is knowing how his jump pattern works.

He could drop a bit of scr, it's similar to the "grant scr for running around" of UNITY, but yeah, the only challenge is hunting him down.

Well, yes, obviously. What I meant was that, strictly speaking, the only thing that has to be done to make people do Grond again would be making him drop gcr. In practice, making him more difficult is necessary for that to prevent people from getting gcr too easily.
