I logged in last night to see how the new Cosmics on MI were doing. I can confirm that the locations are not marked on the map and the timer was only visible when you were very close to the site. Sat around for 20 minutes watching a group trying to organize itself. Almost everyone was hybrid or dps. A few tanks. I showed up with a healer and there may have been 2 others present. Pretty much everyone agreed that more healers were needed, but either none of the other players had one, or they weren't willing to switch from a pew-pew-pew character to a support character. Left after that because I wanted to play the game.
I've got the feeling that in this current user-unfreindly manifestation only a relatively small number of dedicated farmers are going to do it at all regularly. I can't see what are essentially PUGs pulling this off in any reasonable amount of time.
The locations aren't marked, no, but UNTIL Liaison Irwin will teleport you to the closest spawn point to each of the Cosmics. The most troublesome one is Teleiosaurus, because he doesn't plant you inside the Open Mission area, but just head West from there and you'll be on it.
As for Qwyjibo, you'll spawn in the Open Mission area, just head North and you should see him if he's up. Generally he's fought just north of the "Humidiator" landmark.
For Kigatilik, again you're spawned in the Open Mission area, and if you look at your map, he's at the landmark named "Cat's Cradle".
As far as being done by PUGs, these are my experiences so far: Qwyjibo is definitely manageable for a PUG, as long as there's a couple tanky characters and healers, and plenty of DPS. Once people learn what to do, that is "don't stand in the fire and kill the blue hearts that pop up", it's a good fun time.
Kigatilik requires a bit more strategy than that. Five tanks, five healers, and a lot of DPS that know not to attack the dogs when they've respawned. This one usually plays out well, even in a big PUG group, if people learn what to do. I've seen it go very right, almost too right, and seen it go very wrong. One time we had a full friggin' zone that couldn't take him down just because no one wanted to tank the dogs. ALMOST A HUNDRED PEOPLE! Sheesh. Finally some people decided to tank, and we beat it.
Teleiosaurus, pretty much everyone needs to learn what to do or it goes to crap real quick. This is definitely the toughest ones for PUGs, but I've seen it get organized well enough a few times to completion.
It really all comes down to knowing the fights. Give it a week or so and they should be easily PUGable. Hopefully!
Don't waste your breath with this "it's scary" insult. Nobody with a brain will be bothered by its childish nature. I'm sure the brave souls like you will have the poor frightened masses flocking to the great new content any minute now. Get back to me when that happens.
I guess that's how we're different: I don't think there are 'frightened masses', just a minority who wants desperately to claim that everything new is impossible. I just have more faith in, and respect for the average player than you do.
PS - Considering the massive groups I've seen at the cosmics every day since it went live, you can consider me to have gotten back to you
Each of the cosmics requires a core of specialists and then a bunch of add-on dps; some level of competence is required for the dps but it isn't all that high. That number may well be large enough to cause problems with assembling groups.
Qwyjibo is the simplest: three tanks and a healer is it for the specialists, and the dps needs to know about and deal with the hearts. That's not dramatically worse than filling out a F&I PQ, and should be puggable.
Kigatilik requires a boss tank, boss healer, and a means of dealing with the dogs; the simplest setup is one tank per dog, one healer per dog, and someone who can cc the dogs to deal with excessive stacks (this doesn't require heavy cc investment, I've done it with dps, but it does require knowing what you're doing and being willing to break off and do it). Other than that, the dps needs to be competent enough to deal with ice prisons. It can be done with fewer but the builds need to be more specialized. This is a larger number of specialists than can easily be had in a pug, though most of the jobs aren't especially difficult as long as you've got an appropriate build.
Teleiosaurus requires at least three boss tanks, one add tank, and probably two healers. In practice it's desirable to have at least one backup in each position. The primary boss tank needs to be able to generate good threat while under fire, which is demanding for both skill and build, and the add tank has the job of wrangling the baby into a good position, which is quite difficult. Other than that, this is a fight that is really easy for the dps to make a mess out of, because it's rare for the tanks to have enough threat to hold against a competent dps going all-out, and the dino's threat being all over the place will turn the fight into a fiasco. Again, this is more specialists than can easily be had in a pug.
Yeah, we are different: You are the one who applied the term "scary" and now try to portray me as having introduced it. I don't deceive like that.
You're the one talking about the frightened masses as if they exist, and I'm the one saying I don't think they do. Not sure where you see a deception.''
You have a more optimistic idea than most of the game's population if you think the people currently engaging epic content are less than 2%. That's actually kind of refreshing.
Don't propagate your deceptions further. I was speaking to TA specifically, not all epic content. Obviously open world content that requires a large number of persons is not the same thing as instanced content.
Yea, no. The only one propagating deceptions are people like you saying that average people cannot do these instances. The only way for that to be true is if by average you are saying people cannot see or understand how basic tells and mechanics work that are very elementary.
But then again, even to this day after multiple times of being painfully explained by SOCRATES how Cybermind's Simon Says mechanics work, people still fail at that, so not much one can say. But I always find it funny, and telling, the people that show that TA can be done with all manner of builds, set ups and so forth that people claim is impossible, and even prove that the gearing isn't holding anyone back, or builds or even ATs, people still refuse to accept the facts.
It's true. Sometimes I wonder why I bother providing so much evidence, considering the naysayers could say the place is impossible as they're picking up the reward from Telios' corpse. More videos coming soon

Where did we go wrong here? Where did we fail in revealing to you the "NOT WORTH IT" part?
This seems more subjective than you want it to be. Spinny has fun with it and gets rewards that are worth it, by Spinny's standards.
I have tried TA but the Teleiosaurus is just too much for me to survive. I try to find the best place to stand but it never lasts or I'm dead by the time I can find a position which doesn't kill me outright. I really don't want to respec just to survive in TA. Same with the momma and baby Dino. Those are the hardest for me and my somewhat squishy DPS build.
I really don't want to respec just to survive in TA.
Don't worry, you don't have to. I'm going to guess you're melee, since ranged has a pretty easy time finding a place to stand. One thing I recently learned running TA on my melee toon is that with the dino you want to back up to max melee range ( it'll look silly cause your melee attacks will be hitting air ) to avoid getting hit with bites - other than that just be lined up with the dino's shoulder and make sure you block the stomp, poison spikes, and stun roar and your healer should easily be able to keep you up.
Where did we go wrong here? Where did we fail in revealing to you the "NOT WORTH IT" part?
You failed because you foolishly assumed that everyone calculates worth the same way you do. Having gotten 2 cool new powers, fully equipping two characters in Distinguished gear, equipping nearly every one of my alts in determined gear, getting hundreds of G, thousands of questonite, hundreds of healing potions, stacks and stacks of mods, a bunch of costume pieces to give away to my costume-hungry friends, some AFs I actually think are neat, thousands of G from selling determined gear AFs and costume pieces, hours and hours of fun, and the joy of showing many people that they can do content that they thought was impossible ( I think my favorite parts are still Ravenforce marveling at the fact that she can tank ), I feel that my time spent in the lair was worth it based simply on amount of rewards per hour spent in there. Oh and I also felt challenged by the content... throw that in there too.

Again you reach into that inexhaustible bag of delusions you have and consider my remark as being about you.
If you make a universal statement (X is not worth it), you're claiming that it's not worth it for everyone. If you want to say "Not worth it for ME", say that.
finally managed to get into TA with Cactus Jac, ranged support.
first run, trainee tank had problems with aggro and survival, eventually left because of time. we swapped for another tank and it got finished.
next day got to have another, first bosses ok, now I knew what we had to do.
Teleios.... oh boy. Pass the poison, wither it wouldn't pass to me or it wouldn't pass away from me.
Eventually left with a major headache, hope they got someone else who managed it.
Lag got every in that group at least once during the Teleios fight.
That's one of the reasons my CC character has so many holds - I don't need Telios adds to stand in any particular way, I can keep them all controlled no matter what they do ^_^
Oh I've got plenty of holds, it just becomes a little difficult when each laser dude is 100 feet away from every other mob. having that TK hold device also helps.
Actually considering getting one of the chain pull powers (or perhaps a lasso, though long cd) to simplify rounding up errant adds. Pity there's no paralyze + knock-to power.
