[Poll] Power Customization - what do you think about it?

l'm gonna get this theme upped, since with more additional updates a pet table become haywire, and their look can't be called default anymore if it changes constantly. Summon Animals R3 now creates Plated Raptors, Support Drones R3 - gray drones. This is an issue, to workaround which you have to pay real money. l'm not going to do that, it's like "Ask the Audience" button for me, and l'm consider myself as good player enough to do that, and slosh my hardly earned moolah to bunch of features, that l'm not gonna use. Developers stated themselves as those, who going to FIX bugs, not to multiply them. And sometimes fixing problems requires drastic solutions.

In addition, my FF toons look meh when l begin to "mix and match" powers (which they supposed to), they start to shine with all colors of rainbow like Christmas Tree, while in comic book heroes usually have two-three signature colors in a both costume and powers. There is nothing to do with blue and orange colors in my nuclear cyborg, he has to be green, while my main tank (used to be blue by concept) is greener than him. l tinted my devices to proper colors, and they look better, but it still isn't enough. Let's not forget, that subscribed players have to watch this eyesore when they team up with me and others.

I can understand concept, that you pay continuously to have color tinting in your powers, but... When you stopped sub, your powers left in their memorized colors, until you retcon them, so it's not signature that you're subbed ATM. And also lifetimers - they already had paid 200$, and don't do this anymore. And in general it is hard paywall, and there is already another game with hard paywall, and it called DCUO. If you don't pay real money - you get its trial version. Champions Online positions itself as a F2P game with soft paywall instead, and continuous additions past years (FF Slots, Cash Cap Increase) proven it. Forcing to pay is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it may drive some to fork out and sub, on the other hand - it may drive them away from the game.

Should be there more ways to get Power Customization, than just subscribe.

Yes. Allow it for everyone without any back thought - let inferno newbs burn with blue for instance. Game becomes more beautiful and thus attractive for new players.

Yes. Power customization should be included into Freeform slot, as they are expensive enough.

Yes. They need to make standalone Power Customization Token, for which you have to pay zen, just like Cash Cap increase, Costume, Auction, Bag slots etc.

No. It should left as a gold perk. If you want to customize powers - pay real money continuously, except you are LTS, which is standalone case, since lifers de-facto are generators of currency for microtrasactions.

I jealousy regard my Gold benefits, but I could get behind giving tinting to the very expensive FF slots . . . plus the couple freebie slots they've given out, too.

since there was no option to vote for both... I voted for included with FF slot as it is the most important one... if you pay $25/$50 for a single FF slot then you should get FULL freeform customization... that includes power tinting...

and hell I see zero problem with letting silver ATs buy power tinting on a per character basis... in fact I see a very beneficial marketing opportunity that can very easily lend itself to a decent amount of income for Cryptic to put towards further development of CO

Customization is a big aspect and selling point of CO!
It should be available for everyone, and the FF slot needs to include it for its price

wow 3 yes options and 1 no option.

what was it you said to me ingame " you're trying to break down the last paywall."
since your arguments is against subscriptions getting things, free players can't.

in that case your poll should be
    1. do you think everyone should have power tinting,
    2. no only gold perk.

now you need ask the people who voted yes for free with a FF slot. how many silver FF slots do they have.

you only have 3 for available to anyone.

and you only have 15 votes out of how many people.

try advertising ingame and see how many silver players you can get to answer,
people who have been playing for a while, not people who create an account to answer the poll.. like the last poll someone had.

    I voted for the token.

Even if the only way to get it to work is to sell "pre-colored power tinting auras" for silvers. Full customization would be prefered, but anything is better than what we have now.

One thing to note is that Silver Players still buy things. I buy costumes, AT's, etc. Some people just don't want to be locked into a subscription. Or have tired of subscribing after X number of years.

    :# What ever.

CO's Power Customing is about coloring. Or changing weapon/pet skins. That's it. Or Auras, with limited use.

I have 2 or 3, don't remember which at the moment, and I've been a LTSer since before the games launch.

Recently, l came up with following idea, & also thought that would be both pretty safe & easy to implement - what if make commands /powerhue, /poweremit, /powerentcreatecostume not completely disable for non-subbed players, but instead make them deplete some of character's currency. Say about 100 G or 10000 Q. Of course that depletion would occur only if player is not subbed. There's already example of commands, that proc when player has above certain threshold of currency, one of them is that respecs last purchased power (retcon). Just look how it's implemented there. Alterate slightly client verifiers to make boxes visible for non-subbed & tooltip, that for not subscribed players a tinting (& another power customization) is not free feature. This way power customization would be not fully restricted to golds, but still expensive enough (customize 10 powers would cost 1000 G, which's considerable value), to be primarily gold perk. This option is definitely worth to thinking about, because at current state Travel Powers, given to Golds for free, aren't just worth buying for Silvers.
