Better post this before the CO's next Anniversary

Dear DEVs, please don't forget that Titles are also an important part of CO's character costumization and themes! NOT only for Vanity!
there are some Anniversary titles which can FIT themes, but the ONCE-IN-LIFETIMER chance to get them is really unfair

the idea for this suggestion came when I created a Swordwoman character whose theme is Justice! what Title could possible fit better? DEFENDER OF JUSTICE of course!
I tend to give my character Theme related titles and NOT vanity ones
But WOOPS this character was created after the 5th CO anniversary, I cannot get it anymore and definatly cannot go back in time

I also have a friend who is fan of GROWTH theme character who wants the title Really Big Deal but he cannot get it neither

Keep in mind I ask for those titles for Character theme and costumization, and NOT useless vanity and pathetic Bragging Rights
Im really against having once-in-lifetime-only titles

The Anniversary Titles we got so far are:
  • Celebrate! (Login during the First Anniversary Celebration Event)
  • Jubilate! (Login during the Second Anniversary Celebration Event)
  • Party Time (Log in during the Third Anniversary Celebration)
  • Party On! (Log in during the Fourth Anniversary Celebration)
  • Defender of Justice (Login during the Fifth Anniversary Celebration Event)
  • Really Big Deal (Login during the Sixth Anniversary Celebration Event)

another set of lost forever titles, are the ARC Promotion Gifts, the code has expired and new players cannot get them anymore
  • Lady
  • Dr.
  • Sir
  • Lord
  • The

the way to archieve them could be by buying them via an event vendor while using an event Currency! That way you can encourage players to farm the Event to get them! Buying Titles CAN be a thing
and since those titles are lost in time, they can be brought back with an alternative away

How about you, don't you have any particular character who could use one of these for their Themes?

It wouldn't solve all the issues, but making most perks *account wide* would be beautiful. It would also make the 5k kill grinds less of a bore. (Pretty much the only perks that shouldn't be account-wide are plot-related ones and significant villain defeat perks).

Speaking of titles you can't get anymore, they need to introduce another way for people to get the old Arc reward titles; I've had a few players asking me how to get "The" or "Sir" or "Lady", and it really sucks to have to say "That title is from an old promotion and the codes don't work anymore; you can't get it. Ever."

These are special titles and they should only be for those who participated in said points of history. Account wide if they were there, fine, but if you weren't there should not cheapen them for those who were there.

I'm with Silverspar on this one. I prefer that titles that signify participation in an event only be available to those that participated. I kinda feel that way about certain costume bits, too.

Yes, for certain items, being widely available to all players makes it less special. This isn't a big issue for me, but it's my preference.

I say this as someone who has *not* been here since beta or something. I only started playing a few months after free to play, and only started subbing after On Alert. There are certain items and titles I may never have, and I understand why.

It isn't too bad. It's suck it up. You weren't here, oh well. They are a small incentive and actually give weight to those who have been here for all this time. There's plenty of stuff that was part of said anniversaries that you can still claim. But these were one time thanks you for those that have been here.

Personally, I strongly disagree with the practice of offering exclusive cosmetic rewards. If the anniversary perks didn't have titles attached to them - or had theme-neutral titles like "First Anniversary Veteran", then sure, leave them as exclusive can't-be-repeated things.

But I'm in favor of allowing later access to these things, for the same reason I was in favor of including some catch-up mechanism for the gold reward costume pieces, or the same reason I think the costumes and power replacers removed with On Alert should still make a return.

Uh, gold people already got a catch up mechanism. It's called a life time sub which unlocks all veteran levels. And those costumes have been making a return.

Exculsive rewards add more incentive to log in and play while said rewards are available and help to increase population during special events. If you missed out on something you really wanted that was only available for a limited time I know it can be disappointing/frusterating, but such is life...sometimes you don't get to have all the things you want.

Not everyone wants to dump $300 on CO(or has the time to commit to playing the full value of said $300). While I'm all for uniqueness on vets, I think the Gold vendor does a great job at what you stated there and therefore is good enough to allow a few perks to be set free so to speak. Mind you, this ofc excludes day 1 thank-you-for- purchasing perks. Unless this is what we're talking about here? In which case, maybe relinquish the aesthetic ones(no costume attached?). :T
Buffing everything to stupid high levels and nerfing everything to piss poor levels yields the same results, but not the same community reactions.
