Does the benefit of this only stay active when you're above 80% energy? Or does it stay on for a little while afterwards?

I'm curious, because my character's energy fluctuates wildly between high (>80%) and low (<50%), and I'm wondering it this item would be any good for me.

Personal experience is the bonus is off when >80% total energy. If there is even a 1 second delay, I have never noticed. However, the translucent effect lasts 3-5 seconds after the energy drops.

It works best on high equilibrium/low energy total. A single hit with the Energy builder or a block (in the tank role) is enough to keep it active consistently.
