Ragged Proletariat Armband

I'm thinking of getting this item, but before I spent valuable salvage, I wanted to ask what the resulting zombies look like. Are they just regular zombies?

While I'm on the subject, how do they compare to other pet devices? Obviously, they're no teleiosaurus pheromones, but are they decent?

  • they look exactly like the zombies found around the sunk soviet nuclear submarine just north of the aegir in lemuria

  • Hm. Now I can't decide between Ragged Proletariat's Armband or Khusor's Doom.
  • i would go with whichever has the lowest cooldown...doesn't matter how good a pet is if you can only summon it once per several fights

  • It's the same. 5 minutes. The zombies have more damage, but are slower. The gnashers are more numerous and can snare, but have less damage.

But in my case, cooldown is irrelevant, because I only intend to use it on bosses and the like, for an ever-so-slight advantage.

If you are using Aura of Ebon Ruin, gnashers are notably better. The higher numbers and faster speed mean that they proc the ebon lightning more often.

  • I ended up choosing Khusor's Doom, largely for RP reasons. I had initially hoped the band's zombies were like the ones in Canada, which I could RP as being fallen heroes risen to fight again or lost souls given a chance for redemption through good deeds (Ragman-style). But when I saw the zombies that it does summon in Lemuria (which look less like ancient corpses and more like obvious brain-eaters), I decided I couldn't justify my goody-two shoes hero summoning them. The gnashers, on the other hand, I figured would be alien-looking enough that even if they seemed scary, they wouldn't necessarily scream "evil". I could easily justify them as being magical summoned creatures which just happened to look like servants of the Bleak Ones.

I was immediately proud of my decision. In my research, I had seen a forum post from somebody claiming they were adorable. I couldn't understand how that could possibly be until I summoned them for the first time and immediately fell in love with their cute little tiny bodies. They have also turned out to be surprisingly useful. My fears of them preventing me from balling anything up turned out to be unfounded (my character is an Unleashed), as they usually gang up on one enemy and lock them down with snare spam (while simultaneously body blocking from multiple angles, which is one of the things I find most appealing about pets). And even on the rare occasion that they do go after multiple targets, their snare spam (which occurs far more often than I would have guessed) ensures that they keep the enemies busy. And then, to top it all off, their small bodies ensure that they don't get in the way when I'm trying to click-target the enemy they're holding up (Tab-targeting has never really worked well for me; it always seems to select everything except what I want it to).

And, again, they're adorable. Ugly, but adorable. If anything, the ugliness only serves to highlight their cuteness that much more! And I normally don't care about that sort of thing!

So, in short, thank you for helping me make the right decision.

that can only proc twice every 6 seconds, so...speed doesn't really matter, especially if the character using it already has a decent crit chance

Ah, fair enough. Still, they reach their initial target faster and change targets faster because they move faster than zombies. And more of them can certainly mean more chance of the proc.

Now you just need to pop a party ball and make them *dance*. It'll be love all over again.
