Ok, Where do i begin. So I played the new mission, and I'm utterly shocked at how sad it made me when my best tank character couldn't tank properly with legion gear and ended in several party wipes. (please do not ask for details of the gear, it shouldn't matter as long as its above heroic.)
So then i take a look a the store.
How on earth... Is any character, EVER going to get that gear? How can you expect new players who reach end game to achieve this mission?
This gear is estimated to be a little worse than Justice Gear. and the mission itself is hard enough to REQUIRE IT... why would you even do the mission if Justice is better?
to top off this massive hardcore not-worth-the-headache grind fest that is claimed to be the worst in CO history..
ITS BIND. ON. PICKUP...
This means:
1. Your character for your organized team is the only one getting that gear. including ones you may never use outside of this mission.
2. Your other characters that could desperately use that gear are never going to get it because your team cannot survive as well as the others in your list.
3. And are you seriously, in your right human mind, going to grind 250 GR from this for one piece for a character that you wont even benefit the MOST from outside of the carefully organized team? that's just ridiculous!!
Look, I understand you guys were trying to bring new toys to the game. introducing a grindfest with a severely hardcore mindset was not how you do it. When i saw what we would be dealing with, my exact reaction was "Oh... oh... no...CO what're you doing..."
Cryptic, Champs, Anyone... If you're going to make a grind fest. please. remove the bind on pickup. instead, please replace the bind with "Bind to account on pickup" for the love of God.. otherwise I cant say I can hold any respect for you.
As well as do not make us grind for 5+months for a full set?.. this update has some beyond retarded choices to bring the game back to life for new players in general..
Please. hear me out. This is what you can do to fix this.
You need to TAKE CONSIDERATION for your player base. Not everyone is a god character in CO and you need to set this accordingly. bring back the difficulty ONLY IN THE FORM of the original in game difficulty setting. make the buffs that mobs get from being much harder, much harder THAT way... that way people who are lesser can still get a challenge from normal difficulty without being slaughtered beyond trying. ESPECIALLY THE POOR ARCHETYPES. If people want their difficulty fix, please do it in this fashion, make the difficulty settings MUCH MORE POTENT and the problem is solved! we can make TA much easier (while still requiring teams), then the reward smaller for lower settings, and much higher for elite difficulty. that way everyone can get their way.
Please make the difficulty buffs from harder settings such as elite much more potent so that TA can at least come down a few notches for our very fragile, not so hardcore player base.
Not to mention, you cant sit here and expect people to just suck it up and earn thousands of hard to get recognition just for a set of gear for ONE character...
Any thoughts?
TLDR:
1. Nerf TA's mob damage so it can be recalculated with the new difficulty fixes. but keep the 1 shots. (Trust me if you can make the buffs potent enough you can cause TA to possibly be even harder as elite, but still doable to lower characters.)
2. Make difficulty settings much more potent (this benefits bosses too).
3. Distinguished gear should be account bound, or not sold at all.
4. Make rewards from TA and other missions less to more rewarding depending on the difficulty setting (Normal, Hard, Elite, etc.)

But could be made current difficulty level attached to Elite, while on Normal it might be way easier. But still won't be soloable as long as Medusa drops more than 2 of these bombs. Besides damage, difficulty changes would also affect adds spawning in boss rooms (e.g. 1 grondling on Normal difficulty, 2, on Hard & Very hard, then all 4 on Elite). And affect loot as well, so playing it in Elite rewards more. Or even make two daily missions - one for completing lair on Any difficulty, another one is for Elite setting only. So most of playerbase would be able to complete first one, hardcore players - both.
About gear - if it's bound to account only, that will mean it's easily transferable via hideout bank; and then technically Justice Gear won't needed since you can get only one set of gear and use it on all characters. Safer solution: Silver and Gold recognition should be made transferable via hideout bank, just like Justice tokens & drifter salvage.
But eh, it seems devs released new content for... themselves. PvP already killed by a fact, that you have to pick bugged overpowered powers and forget about your theme to not be a fodder. Making similar mistake with PvE content will very likely result of backlash, in form, that it'll turn to of waste of money and effort. Along with those repricing, which has fair chance to drive from game even more players.
In fact - no one loves grind their life in a game, many play here because of character customization system. That's what should be priority of developers - increase of CUSTOMISATION choices. Many players would like quickly levelup char, then slap on it everything to be fully competitive - even for real money. While lifeless grinders are opposite - they pay real money very rarely. Pay-to-speed model usually satisfies both sides - first can get everything this instant; second are on top, because of high # of in-game currency.
The Distinguished gear should be BAoP AND BoE, meaning you can move it to other toons and bind it too them.
The determination gear is fine..but it has kidna rendered onslaught gear moot.
The pricing in the vendor vs the current rate at which we can get GCR is just sadistic [I mean come on, nobody likes grind]
Lastly, the overall diffcuility of TA isn't that bad...sure, you can't pug it, but considering that you can rock it if you have a team of good players, with good builds.. or hell, a team of VERY good players with non-junk ATs, as long as the team composition is decent....basically, what I'm getting it is, it's about time that we had something that was actually challenging outside of fire & ice, sure TA requires a bit more planning and coordination than your adverage F&I team, but you get that down pat and..well...TA is rather...simple actually.
