so, this build is a little bit different from my prior ones because it's the first i've done with summons...and i have absolutely no idea what kinds of things support uncontrollable pets, if anything, so i have no idea just what kind of spec trees i should be taking or even what kind of superstats would best benefit a 'necromancer' style build, but this is what i have so far:

AoED is the pure dps option for Pet builds and works well w/ the ebon lightning proc and a decent crit rate, though any of the aura passive will also effect pets. AoRP for a defensive army, AoPM for a more versatile buffing build.

Commander should prob be one of the specs if ya have a good deal of pet powers in total; the other spec depends a bit more on what you want to prioritize in the build- personal dps, support, defense, etc. Since Rebirth's undead only pop when ya die and use the power, and res serum's takes a corpse, I'd prob add 1-2 more normal pets in there. Maybe the summon shadows, nightmares, pyro blades, and/or 1-2 of the Sorcery ritual pets w/ the unbound adv.

Ya have to give up some normal attack and defense slots to have a large pet array. If using Infernal SN, ya can cover most personal dps needs just by spamming Epidemic everywhere, and that frees up more attack slots for pet powers. Ya prob dun need an ultimate either. Maybe go w/ something like this:

Shadow Blast is there to use AvMastery procs, and to put up Fear for Lifedrain's AoE adv, else ya can use Epidemic while keeping track of ur pets.

well, that definitely looks more cohesive than what i had, but is there a version that keeps the infernal powers instead of going shadow? i was thinking of making a diablo 2-styled summon/poisonmancer hybrid with this character, and since all the infernal supernatural powers deal poison damage...​​

Well, Fear is nice if ya want to use Lifedrain's AoE to heal allies and pets better, though it'd work okay w/o it (just the splash heal will be weaker). That's why I added the blast, but w/o it ya can do fine w/ Infernal blast or w/e other attack ya want (though if its not a blast then AvMastery isn't gonna work out and ya'd want a diff spec setup).

what exactly is relentless assault proccing off? as far as i can tell, none of the powers in the above build are maintains; unless lifedrain is or summons count as a maintain​​

well, here's the updated build; i decided to leave off ebon void because i honestly shouldn't NEED a block replacer as i shouldn't be getting hit that much, and the PBN adv on ego sleep causes fear, which is needed for vampiric sympathy to give its full AoE healing, so i figured it would be a decent replacement for the loss of shadow blast​​

Yeah, Sleep w/ adv works well since it Disorients and Fears ur main target on tap. Can also get some extra pets via devices, if ya want a larger army.

so, i need to update this build due to sorcery shenanigans...this is what i had at the time of the patch yesterday, so what should i update to take into account recent changes? preferably something that results in a tad more survivability, because this thing is even squishier than electrocution is, and he has NO constitution

Yea its going to be squishy w/ AoED and low Defense from specs. Easiest way to boost survival is to use AoRP instead, but then ur dps goes down a good deal. Or take AoPM for the in-between option. If ur getting aggro, you can try a threat wipe as well, else most of ur survival comes down to active heals, blocking, and the quality of ur gear.

well, another thing to do would be swap out one of the pets for something tankier...i wanna get rid of the imp anyway

which summon is it that gives you the huge jackal golem thing?

i also considered ditching the poison part of the build and going with curses instead - except i think the only ability that has AOE and can apply a curse *cough*skarn's bane*cough* doesn't actually do so most of the time​​

I do know of the brute the Tyrannon's Familiar summons, or the techy/arcane golem from the Ritual of Arcane Summoning- but I forget what other skins it has. Latter one may be what you want?

well, i suppose i can always try both and find out what skins each one has, since anything done in the powerhouse can be freely reversed until you leave​​

okay...i have just been through every summon and controllable pet power i could find - NONE of them offer anything that looks even remotely like an anubian jackal, yet i KNOW i've seen people with jackal pets following them...i really hope it's not from a device​​

It sounds like it is a device pet. I can't recall any Jackal skins for the pet powers off-hand, unless its a recent unlock.
