Idea - that is definitely worth to look at for Devs - ALTS as Sidekicks

Yeah, that's it - how about new type of permanent sidekicks... is being able to summon your ALTS from same account as sidekicks! But there's restriction - you can summon only Archetype characters. If an Alt is summoned as sidekick, it uses powers, same way as Nemesis uses (e.g. Soldier uses munition powers, Radiant uses celestial, Inventor uses gadgeteering). In sidekick mode it can even have have access to powers, that normally can't use (e.g. Two-gun mojo for soldier or Master of mind for Mind AT, just think about Nemesises). Conversely some powers that they can use in playable mode can't be unavailable in sidekick mode - e.g. Arcane Vitality for Radiant AT sidekicks, because it's not a part of Celestial powerset. Alt's level should be not less than User's level (e.g. for 40 lvl character you must to level up toon to 40 lvl), alt's gear doesn't affect its combat power as well. When sidekick summoned - it inherits same costume it had worn when you log out from it.

There could be some other expenses besides device buying - e.g. force to use specific tokens, that you have to earn on summoned character in order to be able to use it as sidekicks (e.g. it could be even Guardian tokens). Device itself can cost... well around 2500 Z. Or maybe there are temporary (1-hour) version of similar sidekicks. Just thought about Radiant sidekicks can be useful for characters, that can't heal normally, and at same time it will be force many people to level up & play as AT, to be able summon them in battle on their mains.

    You do realize that the Radiant is part sorcery and part celestial and not pure celestial right? In fact, it gets only 4 celestial powers while it gets 4-5 sorcery powers, with the option for one infernal supernatural power. It also has two shared powers between the two. So, your example is not a good one there. For they could make the radiant AT sidekick either or. Also, DO NOT FORCE GOLD/LTSERS TO RAISE ATS. That is all.

    Why do I get the feeling that I somehow had something to do with this.
    Wow, custom companions certainly became a thing after I mentioned it...

    By the way, in case you are wondering what I did, here's a link. I'm not going to promote myself for anything, because I'm just not that kind of person. I just feel I needed to point this out...

    I'm sure lots of people would like to summon one character to aid another. But if we had a general custom sidekick system, it would cover this too. You'd just need to make a custom sidekick with the same appearance and name as one of your other characters. I'm not sure a general custom sidekick system would take much more resources to develop than this, and it would have much broader applications.

    as soon as you put this in, you lose a lot of players.
    why the heck would I want to summon an AT as a sidekick?(and I have levelled pretty much all of them)
    heals? I can put heal devices.
    damage? can do that myself
    tank? I've done that one ranged, melee, support, hybrid and even on tank

    They have no gear. To give you an idea, here's a grimoire i levelled with no gear. Look at her OFF/DEF, also the stat bonus from aopm. Those are the stats of an UNGEARED level 30 AT.

    you want only AT's but then you want to add in extra powers.

    No.... I'd rather just have a custom sidekick device and recreate a few of my alts as sidekicks than to convert anyof them to ATs.... EVER...

    The point is that for sake of simplification I decide for playable sidekicks use same powersets as for Nemesis system. The simplier we make new mechanics - the less bugs it contains, and we have too much bugs in this game to additionally multiply them. Additionally all bosses during Bloodmoon were equipped with loadouts, that are very similar to nemesis ones. In my idea they intended to use following conversion table:

    the Automation -> Power Armor

    the Marksman -> Archery
    the Soldier -> Munitions
    the Inferno -> Fire
    the Tempest -> Electricity
    the Scourge -> Infernal Supernatural
    the Squall -> (should be Wind)*
    the Icicle -> Ice

    the Behemoth -> Might
    the Glacier -> Ice
    the Master -> Martial Arts
    the Invincible -> Power Armor
    the Mountain -> (should be Earth)*

    the Blade -> Single Blade
    the Unleashed -> Dual Blade (despite when it's played it has bunch of Force powers)
    the Disciple -> Telekinesis
    the Fist -> Martial Arts
    the Devastator -> (should be Heavy Weapon)*

    the Grimoire -> Sorcery
    the Impulse -> Force
    the Savage -> Bestial Supernatural
    the Night Avenger -> Fighting Claws
    the Specialist -> Munitions (despite when it's played it has bunch of Dual Blade powers)
    the Void -> Darkness

    the Mind -> Telepathy
    the Radiant -> Celestial (despite when it's played it has bunch of Sorcery powers)
    the Inventor -> Gadgeteering

    * Nemesises haven't access to those frameworks, and should be IMO, along with

    So probably only character that could heal you in sidekick mode would be Radiant (Celestial Nemesises have seraphim), and Grimoire sidekick would bring you significant attack buff (Sorcery Nems have Aura of Ebon Destruction), not to mention of setting up various Effects, like Negative Ions or Clinging Flames by them.

    Thats the thing... the system your suggesting is more complicated than what most of us even actually want. Most of us would be satisfied with a Custom Sidekick system that mimics the nemesis system. Giving us a selection of power-sets and letting us design our sidekicks.

    There's nothing wrong with simplified preset powersets for sidekicks. The problem is forcing us to level ATs to 40 or convert alts into ATs to have them act as a sidekick for another alt. Any number of us would rather assign an alt's costume to a custom sidekick than ever be forced to level an AT.

    Pro: Would give the illusion of having more people around and would make game more active/fluid in terms of what you see on the screen.

    Con: Absolutely easy to abuse and go out of hand
    Con: Needs heavy heavy heavy thinking and working out by the devs
    Con: No people that would ever suggest this wants it "just for fun". They want it with a goal in mind (you damn evil geniuses)
