Right now, some of the powers let you choose an origin point (chest, fist, head, palm). All powers let you adjust the hue. A few powers even have 0-point advantages that change how they look.
My suggestion is to fundamentally rework things to give players much more freedom to customize how their powers look. Yes, I know it would be a lot of work. It looks like more work is being put into the game these days though, so I figure there's a chance.
For gun-based moves, the player could choose for it to be animated with a rifle or a pistol, with one gun or two. There could be an option to animate things with normal bullets, a laser blast, or whatever ther options.
Blasts could benefit from far more options than they have now. Do I point my finger like a gun and shoot a beam of energy, or do I wind up and throw a ball of fire like a baseball? Am I a righty or a lefty?
Melee attacks could give the option of using a punch, kick, sword, claw, or whatever. Moreover, players could choose which punch animation is used, which kick animation. For combos, players could be allowed to customize each hit individually.
A single travel power could have multiple options for stance and gait. The animations for each stage that builds up could be chosen separately.
Obviously, this wouldn't fit in the little drop-down box and color square currently provided. There would have to be a button on each power that opens a new menu where all these options are located.
The code for all the powers would have to be heavily reworked to create the flexibility this would require. It's no simple addition. I think it would be worth it though.

That said, cool as that would be, I think there are a great number of better ways to spend development resources.
