Vibora Bay GRAB Alerts really annoy me.

Day at the Mall is mostly tolerable because it is rather quick to do. Get in, wipe up a few groups of baddies and the boss with no buildings to deal with. It is fairly non-glitchy. Still the lack of good EXP there is annoying but almost balanced out by ease.

Stitch in time though is utterly HORRID. It takes a decent amount of time (easily more than City Hall), it can be glitched up easily in a number of ways, AND to top it all off you get half the EXP you get from MC Alerts. So it is not even worth the effort you have to go through in order to do the darn thing.

I know I have pointed out this issue before but when I get a string of Stitch in Time missions six deep back to back it really starts to make me want to strangle someone. Can't we at LEAST give it the MC Alerts EXP so that it is WORTH slogging through that ugly scrapheap?

Well good job on trying to fix it. (I do not mean that as sarcasm I actually appreciate the attempt) So maybe it is times to do it again and see if they can get it to stick. Either that or make them come up far less on the rotation. I would honestly love to see more fighting the Nemesis than the same old baddies as well.

if the alerts are too hard for you. You can now skip all that effort and buy level up items from the zen store. Just push a few buttons and go up a level.

I've played it one time in the last two years. Just too time consuming and repetitive once you get inside Dr. Ka's
People wanted a challenge and the devs gave them "Stand and spam the same exact powers against the same enemy for 10 minutes" because they forget novelty is the spice of life and the spice must flow.

You kids and your short timelines. Pyramid Power is far from the worst thing to happen to video games. Personally, I'd nominate the sale of Atari to Infogrames.

I freaking hate Stitch in Time. So many things annoy the hell out of me.
    - silly exp reward
    - gotta watch silly cut scenes where Juryrig is standing up fine having a conversation with a baddie
    - gotta watch WHEN HE IS SLIDING UP THE RAMP
    - AND THAT IS AFTER you have to use the console WHICH TAKES UNNECESSARY LONG TIME. (UNNECESSARY TO TURN OFF THE TIMEMACHINE ANYWAY)

    so takes too long,
    too hard
    and not enough rewards

go do missions for a while, in Lemuria. It'll look a lot better, fast

Yeah, easily solved by removing the boss xp from the MC alerts.

I'd enjoy the alerts if they were actually longer...like running a lair. And had rewards to match. The closest one to that seems to be cybermind.

The get in and get out...20 times an hour really doesn't do it for me.

Stitch in time could use work. There are legitimate issues with it. Including the cut scenes and baddies getting stuck in the geometry.

I honestly wish we could have something similar to the Alert system for lairs. A little longer than the standard Alert with enjoyable rewards to match.

Did I say too hard? No, I did not. I can solo most Alerts even with my under leveled characters. It is a matter of time vs. reward. Though I do not appreciate it when the Alert glitches out and becomes impossible and anyone who has played Stitch in Time as much as I have knows all too well the numerous glitches that place can have. Though admittedly on occasion they are funny enough to let slide.

Cybermind is not too bad except for its own Glitches including the ever lovely "You randomly don't get credit for your victory" one...

Also it would not be good as a mission to grind up the levels of a character on because you really need to be a bit more leveled before taking it on. Maybe lvl 30 and on is ok.

I completely agree with that. Sort of like having a matchmaker to go take on a longer quest. It would be nice if you could do that with Nemcon and the various Lairs. Cybermind is close, like was said before, but that would make things a bit easier to get to.

I have not done many of the Lairs because I do not know where they are or do not have the mission chain for them down which is annoying.

I know what the glitches are, I've reported them on the bug thread and ways you can get around some of them.
But then I don't do enough alerts to worry about having 6 VB ones back to back and I've never really had a problem with them anyway. I get my xp mostly from doing missions.

The speed at which you can get to level 30 is not a concern. It's a matter of hours without running any alerts. Not a big deal if that slows down a bit.

It'd be interesting to see what would happen if the Grab alerts only gave a +25% XP buff (but let the duration stack up to 3 hours from repeated Grabs) and no extra XP from the reward. You'd still get XP from the enemies and for turning in the daily Alert missions, but you wouldn't level that fast by only doing Grabs.

If you remove the reason for doing something people will stop doing it. People ignored the ghost ship when it was first released because it wasn't worth doing. With out Grabs people will go back to complaining about being bored at doing the same boring/poorly written missions over and over again.

If you want people to run grab alerts occasionally but not just spam them, put diminishing returns on the rewards, similar to the way the rewards from rampages go down the more you run them.
  • chaelkchaelk Posts: 7,732 Arc User
you'd have the same still complaining about not getting a suitable(read LARGE) reward for effort.

Day at the Mall and Fighting City Hall are pretty much the only grab alerts I bother with most of the time these days, I might do the others if I am bored but if I am leveling up I'll usually stick to doing missions until I notice one of these two are available.

It's something of an issue that two things of significantly different difficulty have the same reward -- Day at the Mall and City Hall involve around 6 spawns other than the boss, Bank, Museum, and Stitch are more like 10.
