My friend and I have recently returned for a little Champs fun (Day 1 early release and he is a lifer). Frankly the only content (other than alts) worth doing with our level 40's are Elite level instance runs. Open world content, minus the few exceptions, is so easy it is not worth doing.
At the very least please offer Elite shard versions of each existing zones players can opt into. This way all existing quests and dailies outside can be done at a difficulty level capable of flat-lining even the best geared players.
It is not a mystery that most players leave this game due to it's lack of end game content and the sudden difficulty of getting into appropriate groups to challenge existing content (and the limited progression paths within them). A new and challenging zone balanced against the last 2 tiers of gear and Elite outdoor level options for existing zones would increase player retention greatly.

Yeah some things are broken... no I don't use/abuse them.. where would be the fun in that?
Alerts are a shallow version of what STO's dungeon and fleet actions are.

I would prefer they remove alerts and make real dungeons and scenarios instead, something like Neverwinter has done. The whole boosted XP and such has ruined exploration in this game and pretty much helped tank any notion of them ptoentailly adding new zones for content.

"real" dungeons and scenarios... what does that mean? Does it mean big? Cause then we're running into that labor and time issue again
We got Steel Crusade and look how popular that was. Nobody uses it. The Cybermind missions? Same. Alerts? Spammed constantly every day. It's clear which content works. Sure, there's no exploration value there, and I miss that as much as anyone, but not to the degree that I'd be willing to give up alerts; they're just too much fun. I wouldn't mind somewhat longer, more elaborate alerts, but not to the degree that they lose their "bite-size" appeal.
My super cool CC build and how to use it.
