FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE FIX CYBERMIND

Seriously, running it with a bunch of idiots that have no clue how to win and spend more time dirt napping than fighting, only to bust your **** for an hour and finally beat him only to look over at the mission list and see that you did not get credit, again, and have to repeat the horrible experience IS NO FUN.

It's frustrating. And I'm not sure frustrating has ever been a big selling point for a MMOG.

I stopped doing cybermind pugs a long long time ago...

make a few friends who know what they're doing! It can actually be a really fun alert if everybody understands how the encounter works and as a bonus you'll get it done in 1/3rd the time.

This Alert's BUGs are SO Frustating, I still enjoy Cybermind's Strategy but the NO-CREDIT Bug is driving insane

It's not a short alert, it's basically a Rampage that somehow disquised itself as custom alert

It doesn't help that some people simply REFUSE to understand or attempt to solve the Simon's Says puzzle, no matter how many times you revive them and explain it to them, they will drop dead on the next Data Drain onion-52.gifonion-53.gif
Please don't hit recover when you die, I will revive you, and they ALWAYS hit recover

I run this alert a lot every time it cycles in and yeah, I get frustrated by the non-complete bug also.

I've run it ~20 times this cycle so far. Afterwards I've been asking my team if they got credit for completing it. Based on their responses and my (admittedly limited) sample, it seems that either the whole team gets credit or the whole team doesn't.

I ask that anyone who runs this ask your teammates if they received credit for completing. If indeed it is something that affects (or doesn't affect) the entire team, that could help the Devs pin down what is causing it. Well, assuming they ever look into it...

I've run it 20 or 25 times and I've never experienced this bug.

Likewise, some folks have the no credit bug often (like 50%) and some of us have never had it.

There must be something very particular going on.

I've gotten the same answer whenever I've polled my teammates. Still not sure what triggers the non-completion, though.

Interestingly, I just ran Cybermind and did not have the daily mission (forgot to pick it up). At completion, it counted towards vigilance.

You doubt everything but doesn't have Gravitar's resistance, and also doesn't do Gravtar's damage, and also has a mechanic that is explained to you as soon as you enter the room that basically makes the entire fight laughable, at best. I wish I could solo Gravitar as fast as I can solo Cybermind. The only thing that slows the fight down is the color cubers and if all three pop up.

Snap - just run through it (no great hassles) - collected the reward, but nothing registered in respect of Vigilance. Is this because there's no mission for Cybermind?

We got PUGed together, It was the 3rd run of the current character, and still no credit
It was bad enough for me that the very first character I did the alert with didn't got credit until 2nd run

There IS a Daily for Cybermind, given by Socrates
    FATAL ERR0R: RAID Array
You need to complete the other Fatal Error missions to make it available
you need to finish FATAL ERR0R: Intranet Deployment and FATAL ERR0R: Carrier Wave to unlock the RAID Array

it still makes no change, some of my characters got credit for Vigilance and they have never done those missions

Based on what I've noticed this weekend, I think the non-completion bug is triggered as follows:

In Cybermind's final phase, when he grows large, he damages himself with the power Viral Empowerment Feedback, based on damage done to him. If that attack deals the killing blow, players do not appear to receive mission credit.

I'd appreciate it if others checked their combat logs to confirm or deny this hypothesis. Pinning down the cause of the bug would make the problem considerably easier to fix.

I assume you're one of the few people that still runs pyramid of power then? Radiation Rumble is one of the quickest alerts in the game. Still, I've never had a grab run this long.

Edit: my mistake, grabs are the XP missions, not the mods mission. But even the longest grab, which is likely bank heist, is likely only a bit longer then the unskippible cut scenes in Cyber mind.

Excluding the boss fight and the cut scenes, Cybermind may be comparable to a grab, but the boss fight is quite a lot longer and there are more and longer cut scenes.

With more data, this might not be the case. I encountered a non-completion run where Cybermind died while small (no self-damage).

    Anyone have any other theories?

  • bringmeaslabbringmeaslab Posts: 188 Arc User
I have done no serious testing on this, but I had to do it 6+ times on my archer character on a previous round before I got credit. I realized that he was my only character w/ a full rotation of 100' attacks, and that I'd probably been outside of Cybermind's hopscotch square area each time we beat him. When I made sure to be inside it, I finally got credit. Since then, I've made sure to be close to Cybermind when he goes down, and advised groups I'm in to do the same. I haven't had many runs that didn't complete since then, and in the one that didn't complete for me last night there was an archer shooting at him from next to one of the fountains.

Pretty sure he takes self-damage even when small.

Something else I've noticed is that the ACT Parser doesn't assign a Kill tag to whatever move finishes off Cybermind.

This is compared to parsing Gravitar runs, which assign the Kill tag to the finishing blow.
  • guyhumualguyhumual Posts: 2,397 Arc User
So I've completed Cybermind when everyone else on the team dropped out and still had it not count toward the daily mission form Socrates and the Vigilance mission. Your theory about self damage might be correct. Another possibility, and this is just a guess as of right now, but I've never had the mission not count when our team steam rolled the mission, but, frustratingly, on the longer runs it seems more likely not to count. Could there be some sort of timer or DPS counter that determines if you've done enough damage to help? And what if the longer the mission the less DPS you deal and thus you fall below the damage you need to deal to make the mission count? My DPS toons have yet to have this mission not count but I've had it happen a few times on my tank now.
  • pantagruel01pantagruel01 Posts: 7,091 Arc User
I think whatever it is is less likely to occur for higher team dps, which argues for some sort of self damage.
  • ramthananaxramthananax Posts: 128 Arc User
Finally got credit for Cybermind this morning- and yes, it was a high DPS group, and we took him down while he was small.

I DID wonder...if Cybermind non-completion occurs on toons/ players who have not yet run Fatal Err0r Intranet & Carrier Wave, but I ran both then did Raid Array and still got no completion on one toon and had to run it again to get completion.

    Very weird.

I have noticed that only on some toons do I hear the completion noise to suggest that the mission has been completed, if I don't hear this during the cutscene, then I know I'll have to run it again.

As for the DPS...I've got credit on non high DPS toons, such as my healers, my main etc.

It would be team dps, assuming dps is important at all.

I was wondering, after reading the Vigilance is Bugged post, if anyone has checked to see if getting the mission matters at all? Meaning, that if no one has the mission you don't get credit but if, at least, one person on the team has it you do?

  • pantagruel01pantagruel01 Posts: 7,091 Arc User
As far as we can tell, the mission doesn't matter.
  • roughbearmattachroughbearmattach Posts: 4,784 Arc User
Had my first failed credit on Cybermind.
The toon contributed massive DPS, was involved in the final fight right to the end. Everyone else got credit.
My toon had NOT run the other missions.

In contrast, I ran Cybermind with another toon, with low DPS, who had NOT run the other missions, and did get credit.

You have no idea how sad I am that this post is near the top of the board nearly 2 months later. :'(

    Just for the record:

    1) All my toons that run it have finished the precedent missions and had the daily. Sometimes it works, often it does not. But I didn't care to try the last go-round as I had heard nothing had been done to fix it.

    2) A team of friends does make it a joy to run quickly but does nothing to make the mission complete successfully. AND you don't get to meet and make new friends by teaching them HOW to run it successfully. Sometimes the struggle to beat Cybermind with newbies makes it that much more satisfying when you finally do win... until you realize you received zero credit for the win.

Cryptic, your Fu is weak. Fix it.

Last night, four toons through Cybermind:

    1. Had already completed entire Fatal Error series before, got reward and credit for mission and Vigilance
    2. Had already completed entire Fatal Error series before, got reward and credit for mission and Vigilance
    3. Had never completed any Fatal Error missions, got reward and credit for Vigilance only
    4. Had never completed any Fatal Error missions, got reward and no mission credit at all

    Seems kinda random.

So the Bug is not 100% Fixed but its less common now onion-7.gif

Same, where you by chance running that with Mary Shelley, a Frankenstein's monster like character?

I should add my first 2 runs had no issues getting credit, then on my 3rd I failed to get credit, and nobody I was teamed with got credit either. I also had the SOCRATES' mission up but not with the other two. I managed to get credit for both on the second with that toon. 5th run I experienced no probes spawning which caused a TPK because we were searching for the probes, and on my last run of the day I encountered no problems.

Incidentally I could have sworn on one of my first two runs we encountered 4 probes.

I thought so, I'm not so good at recognizing people on the forums but I seem to remember you having pictures of some of your toons in your signature, but I couldn't say for sure. I was Mary Shelley BTW. Anyways I can't be sure if SOCRATES' warning went off early or the probes failed to spawn but I recall a distinctive pause which makes me feel as though they failed to spawn. Hopefully if that happens again someone on the team will survive so we can see what happens.
