What is a build that revolves around the ray gun as a main power?

So I have a concept in mind which uses the ray gun from the gadgeteering set as a main power. My theme is retro sci-fi so any powers that fit with that theme would be fantastic. I haven't really settled on a role yet so any would be fine.

P.S. No pets please. They don't look good aesthetically, and the supports drones constant healing is obnoxious.

Edit: One more question.... Is there are particular combo that maximizes DPS?

Well, Strafing Run is the best cd-dps power in Gadgeteering, if ya can get used to its ground targeting and its heavy cost, as well as justifying it for the theme. Ya could forgo one of the other cd powers (or defensive powers) to have it.

For filler dps, ur best ST dmg here is tapping Exp Blaster w/ Death Ray, and half-charging it if enemies are in ur face so ya can still stack Concentration w/ it. Otherwise, use the dps cds as appropriate or as they are avail, keeping in mind Nanobot Swarm can reduce the cd on all of them if they are on cd when its used. Ur main AoE filler attack is Sonic Boom Generator (using charges or half-charges- dps won't change that much on it either way); its dps isn't great, but it has decent coverage as a 15ft sphere.

Alternative for decent AoE from the tree is using charged Ricochet Throw w/ Micro Circuits, but that's prob taking away from the theme more, and RThrow really shines if ur using Night Warrior as the passive instead.
