Getting Vehicles to work - Can't steer in combat. Issue with gamepads or something else?

Since vehicles came into the game I've never been able to use them in combat. To be fair back when they came into the game you wouldn't really want to, but that was then, this is now, and I kinda want to use one of those new cars, the plainer look appeals to me, and one of my old heroes I want to re-make would suit one perfectly.

Anyway, the problem is in combat once I lock a target I can't steer away. I can only move straight towards my target. Before I start fiddling with my settings (which are very much how I want them at this point), I want to know if this is a known issue that has a simple fix, or if it's that gamepads aren't supported, or something else.

I know what this is. I don't know *why* but I know how you can fix it. In controls, one of the setting you can find is an "Always face forward" one most people leave unchecked. it basically locks your camera to your characters back when out of combat.

However, if you check it in, even if basically only during combat, vehicles work normally. whether you are targeting a foe or not.

I really have no idea why.

I generally just open options and go to controls tab and set this on when I plan to be in combat with a character that will use a vehicle here and there, and turn it back off for hanging out and role-playing.

it would be super nice if I could keybind the command change, but it doesn't seem to have a text command associated with it that I've found. Maybe Brou could find it, I've had no luck.
