I tried SWTOR for a while. I quickly tired of being punished for playing F2P.

i've noticed this a lot. I was called a "brokeass" and they were like, it's "only 5cents a day" A LIE! But I am having fun and I have General chat turned off. Any missions that are too hard people team up very easily. I am probably going be in there for the most part, so if anyone wants to join with me.
I dunno if I could play that game again. Way too many buttons to have on the screen. I'm not a clicker, but I often have 1-6, Shift-1-6, Alt-1-6 and CTRL-1-6 bound and that game still had too much. Use this other power to do damage. Use this power to do damage if you just used the other power to do damage. Use this other other power to do damage if someone else has stunned the target, but only as long as you didn't use the other power to do damage. Use this other other other power to stun enemies for your friends to do damage with their other other other other power.
NO, THANKS!
Also, isn't their UI so bad that action bars are actually sold in their cash shop?

As far as I knew, it wasn't the other players abusing me - I never spend much time reading Chat windows anyway. The game itself, however, seemed to hate the fact that I was using the F2P function (I can't in good conscience call it "functionality", as it had none). It cost cash money to use the mail, for Light's sake!
Look, I understand if they want people to pony up to play. Servers cost money. But at least be up-front about it - for all Blizzard's flaws, at least they never pretended their so-called "F2P" on WoW was anything more than an extended trial.
Or maybe I've just been spoiled by Cryptic's interpretation, in which you actually can play the game for free, with only fairly minor limitations. (I still haven't dropped any money on STO, although I've been tempted...)
