It made sense when you consider that PWE has PWI, an MMO, and the other game is also an MMO. PWE has a rule against mentioning competing games on their forums, and that game, since it's the same genre, is a competing game. Really nothing else to it. As for the others, I'm unsure of when the filters are going to be…
-
Well, gay was actually in the old filter because people were using it with very negative connotations. They (PWE) probably overrode that decision with the recent clime of US law.
-
Did you manually update to the most recent version of the Forum Enhancement? The version just previous to the most recent didn't break the redirect - Asterelle had to push another update to fix the issue.
-
I believe we have the titles because we were added to a user-group - which would be why they don't specify which game we're from. It would take considerably more time to go back and figure out what users to add to specific user-groups to ensure that all who are entitled to a certain title have it. Like has been said before…

When I worked as a moderator on PWI, this was something we did for every new moderator. We had to submit a paragraph describing ourselves, and the admin posted all of them in a thread together, so that people could get to know us at a glance. I think that'd be awesome - it would allow everyone to get to know each other.…

There have actually been quite a few unforeseen issues that have had to be dealt with - PMs being lumped together, IPs showing up, various CSS and HTML exploits... PWE is doing the best they can to get issues like those taken care of before they start further customization on the forums.
-
I talked to an Admin last night - They're still digging into the tools, so give them some time to come back with a clear answer on the title situation.
-
They activated the level system of the forums, and since then have changed all regular registered users to Arc Users. You simply got the first wave, before they edited the name.
-
In fairness, you're technically using Arc right now, even if you're not using the forum through the shell. The whole of the forums is linked to the Arc social networking system.
-
Wait, you're saying the behavior you mentioned occurred on mobile and desktop? Because I can't reproduce the issue you're reporting in Chrome. When I hit back twice, I end up on the home page of the forums... Just to clarify: What version of the forums are you browsing? arcgames.com, or perfectworld.vanillaforums.com? The…

I'm not offended. On many occasions, I've been one of the harshest critics of PWE; however, I've also been talking to various staff members, and they're all telling me the same thing: All of their attention right now is focused on getting the forums up and running optimally as soon as possible. The quickest way to deal…

I'm not sure what you're not getting about "These guys don't know the softwares". Heck, they barely did anything with vB - they broke it 4 years ago when they released an update on the Rising Tide expansion of PWI, and never could figure out what they did. So you think having them migrate information from a forum software…
-
Maybe just have users send in tickets if they want copies of their PMs - there are plenty of people who have moved on or couldn't care less about their old PMs, and taking the time to send the data to them would be, in essence, a waste of manpower.
-
If you haven't noticed, the staff of PWE has actually grown considerably smaller (just take a look at how many CMs have parted ways recently). That means that the people they have are set on tasks, and to take anyone off those tasks to work on something like PMs is a considerable delay on whatever else they may have been…
-
They already knew about the title filter thing, but I'll make sure that I ping Trailturtle about the other things you found. Thanks for helping out!
-
The systems do not support each other. The only way for them to migrate would be to do each message one at a time, as @frtoaster said - simply not commercially viable for the number of users on the forums. Otherwise, we would end up in the same situation - messages aren't divided properly, and they have to delete them…
-
To be fair, the PM thing wasn't something that was going to be found through testing. It was a migration error, which would have only been discovered after a full migration. The IP addresses, though, were a bit of an issue, I agree.
-
Pft, you don't know me very well, do you? I must have attained at least demigod status by now or something.
-
Nice, good to know that there's an easy way to get one of you guys into a thread now.
-
Your inbox still had old PMs? Or are you referring to before the purge? Because all those messages are supposed to be gone now. If they're not, please inform someone at PWE by either sending a support ticket or PMing @pwlaughingtrendy or @trailturtle .
-
The problem was limited to messages from before the migration. There should be no future issues. Also, you're not the only one who lost important messages - it was the only way to avoid privacy breaches that PWE had unexpectedly created.
-
That was intentional. PWE decided that the only way to avoid any private information being accessed would be to just delete all PMs from the migration. Vanilla doesn't use the same user division for PMs, so it based threads of PMs on the title. This led to everyone who had a message of, say, "Hey", to see every other…

Es gibt eine deutsche Sektion des Forums. Wenn Sie eingehende Unterstützung zu einem Thema benötigen und sind nicht sicher, wie es zu übersetzen, veröffentlichen in diesem Forum. (Sorry for the Google Translate German - it's not a language I speak, but I tried to work with it to make it readable)
-
Sigs are something that PWE intends to fix sooner rather than later - they don't enjoy having gigantic flashing signatures any more than you do. That'll also be helped when they finish standardizing the RoC for the various forums that were migrated.
-
Oh, would you two just relax? Geez... Forums are up for a few days, and there's already drama brewing...
-
Well, the Arcgames site is simply a shell site. The boards are just embedded, which would also be why you can open the forums in a new tab and end up on the perfectworld.vanillaforums version. Simply put - they want us to use Arc. I don't wanna.
-
That one is one that actually irked the admin, too. He wants to be able to say that sometimes.
-
Who knows? All I know is, I talked to a PWE Admin about the filter - he said that it's not high on their priorities, but it definitely is something they intend to address.
-
They're waiting until the dust settles from the migration so that they don't have to do multiple passes to get the permissions sorted. Until then, the moderators are just contacting PWE to get posts removed that need it. If you really believe something is bad enough, use the Flag button, and it will be looked at.

Well, while the first is part of a relatively common saying, it's also an oft-used insult to people of Chinese origin. The second is a not-so-well-known insult to one of Jewish descent.
