UPDATE: Issue fixed, please see page2 for proper patching and update information.

Have reinstalled NW twice, issue happens both times. Force verified and used the tip here to lower my to direct 9 because I know my computer is going to need that anyways.

:/ I'm not crazy computer literate and not sure where to go on this issue from here.

Tried searching for this file manually, can find no where in my neverwinter files where there is an Animation_Library anywhere or in any folder

    Hi merulei,

This fie is embedded inside one of the hogg files, which are "virtual filesystem" packages, kind of like a ZIP file. You'll probably have to delete the data.hogg file to get the game to repatch it, if the force verify is not working. Before you do that, make a backup of data.hogg, as I may ask you to upload this file to us so one of our infrastructre programmers can inspect it.

I'm having the same issue. Has it been resolved? None of the steps above worked.

I have a very similar issue but my file name is as follows: Texture_Library/Ui/Startupscreens/Loadscreen_Progress_Bar_Empty_Left.jpg
Is there a fix for this yet? I have deleted my .hogg file and I am re-patching now. I will come back with an update if this works.

I get the same issue and I see no fix for it.

Here is the actual error in the Error.hogg file : 130428 22:40:06 2 Client[0 [NOENT]]: Error decompressing data. Verifying Files in the launcher may fix this issue.: Texture_Library/Ui/Startupscreens/Loadscreen_Progress_Bar_Empty_Left.Jpg:

It seems like correcting a jpg file wouldn't be a huge undertaking. I'm a little frustrated at this point. I wish I would not have paid sixty bucks to get an error screen all day and no response from anyone.

I even PM hithereyou and no response yet also. It is a little frustrating that you cannot just simply find the dumb jpg and fix it or replace it or even fix the decompression stage somehow.

Sorry everyone, I'm not working the whole weekend; I got chores to do as well! I'm mostly monitoring here to see if we can get any definitive repros for the startup crashes that I am investigating (see the Direct3D threads).

The patching issues are usually handled by our infrastructure team, not the graphics team. I'm sending this thread to the infrastructure lead for this area. He's definitely working on patching issues on an ongoing basis, but he's pretty overloaded with other things at this time (and he might actually be taking the day off today which is probably a good idea).

Since I have had to look at a couple of patching-related problems (because some graphics data don't get the validation that is causing your fatal error) I am curious to take a look at your data. I'm going to send you some instructions.

I get that people need a day off once in a while, but I probably wouldn't sell a product advertising weekend access only to provide no support for it all the while happy to take the money.

Now I have got rid of that error by deleting the data.hogg file a couple times, but now I got a new error which resided in the bin.hogg file. So I deleted that one and re-patched. That one went away, and I got to a CRYPTIC loading screen.. and as the bar loaded halfway mark I got yet another fatal error called Bin/Powertreenhypes.Bin. I do not know where this one resides but I am deleting all the other .hogg files that I have not already fixed by re-patching and we shall see what happens.

Thanks for that. I'm going to try and follow your steps and hope I have the same luck. Even a frozen loading screen would be nice at this point.

I sent the both of you PMs on how to gather some information on the patching problems. Some of the information requests will be pretty quick and easy to satisfy. The last (sending us back one of the broken hogg files) will obviously be a bit more work.

Deleting the texture.hogg and repatching fixed this issue for me.

I just wanted to say thank you Dave for taking your time to reply and try to help with the questions in this forum. I know all the devs are busy with the opening beta and because it is beta there will be a lot of bugs and issues involved, so even though you've been busy with other forums and the thousands of questions and issues and what now, we do thank you for taking the time to reply multiple times in here xP

I know you get a lot of complaints and what not, but even though that is the natural state of people.. we do appreciate your attempt.

On another note: currently I am redownloading the entire thing, because I've heard rumor that the issue that lies with my files not patching right the first time or continuing to not patch properly could be the fact that they're not getting through avg.. so I've completely disabled that and am going to see if that works or not. (I'll update in several hours to let you guys know the outcome)

    Success:

So far it seems my issue is solved, I have managed to redownload and patch properly now and have made it past the initial cryptic loading screen and progress to the game log in screen.

It seems with this test that AVG might be preventing proper downloads, or at least it was in my case. Make sure it is completely 100% disabled while downloading, especially during the patching phase. This may cause errors with future patches as well. On-demand patching might be wise to be disabled that way the game doesn't accidentally patch while AVG is turned on. it will take longer to download the patch, but this way as I move through different areas in the game and patch there this issue shouldn't pop up again. (hopefully)

The only difference that I have made between this download and previous ones is that:
    1. temporarily disabled AVG protection
    2. Double check that I had completely turned off firewall (not just allowed exception)

Now that I have finished the download and tested it, I am going to re-enable both of these things. If any more issues pop up relating to this I'll let you all know :)

    Success and fixed:

I have found that deleting the .hogg files would allow me past certain points until you get to the CRYPTIC loading screen. If anyone cannot get past the CRYPTIC loading screen, they need to disable their firewall and endpoint protection, virus protection program and re-download the game again. Make sure this is also off when you patch the game.
Firewall and Virus protection from AVG and Symantic seem to be the issue when downloading these files to your computer.
    I hope this helps people.

I've seen it as a popular issue in some other threads in the bug forum, however, because it isn't related to my issue I'm unable to help you from this point.

Here's the solution. I had every single error listed here. Is true that you have to remove the corrupted files located in piggs folder but the issue is how to identify which one is the correct one...well my friends....that I don't know I blindly started to remove one by one and the game replaced each corrupted data I had. It might happen that the launcher instead of downloading gets stuck at PATCHING....well in that case restart the PC. In my particular case everything seemed to be corrupted so I raged and I ended up re downloading all the 3.7 gigs or so. which ofc fixed everything. But if u feeling lucky try. made a backup of each .hoggs file and start removing one and let the patcher replace it. Good luck and hold fast.
