Seige of Neverwinter event

mynaammynaam Member, NW M9 Playtest Posts: 937 Arc User
I have been very vocal about the way small guilds have been treated in this game. Many might think I am just going to complain again, but I made this post to thank all at Cryptic for the siege of Neverwinter event.

This event have helped our guild, and I am sure other small guilds too, very much. So from all members of our guild Brulparra I would like to thank you for helping small guilds with this event. Please consider doing similar ways to help us in future events like the summer and winter event.

@strumslinger
There are more than BIS players in this game
RIP Real Tiamat, RIP Real Demogorgon RIP real Temple of the spider. Why remove non bis content to give to bis players ????
FORCING the majority of your player base to play 4 mod old dungeons and trial will have a bad result on player base
Changes are getting so bad i would rather prefer no new changes (RIP ICE FISHING in winter fest)

This event is really great and helps our guilde to get level 16. Thx for this and we hope you make such events in the future too.

Since Devs rarely get praise, I will add my 'thank you' for the redesign in the rewards for the Neverwinter Seige.

Fair Dinkum wants to add their thanks to the devs for the blue stronghold resources drops. We have people logging in to do siege and help out, we have alts being created for the easy leveling and guild contributions, and the new mount at high speed causes cackles of laughter in Team Speak. So thanks, Devs, for helping out the littler guys.

Same experience. This was a great move and I give props to the Neverwinter team for doing it. Moving forward I think that we would like more fun ways to get some of the similar quality vouchers. Stronghold stuff is fine, dungeon shards are fine, this stuff lets you get together in a good way. What's not so great is making us grind the same long campaigns over and over again every day. Those campaigns have a shelf life, they're fun at first, I don't think most people mind doing them for a character, but by the time you have everything you need from them, you feel "Gaah, I'm so glad that's over so I can do other things with my playing time". Not only is it difficult for smaller guilds to do that, especially ones like mine who will take newer players who haven't even completed them, it just creates a lot of extra bore that nobody likes. One of my guildmates commented that it feels like a job to have to grind campaigns all the time. Correct. I'm not suggesting removing campaign currencies, but allowing us, and especially newer players to have more options to get them, like some other way to get decent vouchers, would be great

How about a new event "Call to Arms: [insert campaign here]". Basically it's a weekly event run randomly that calls adventurers to tackle a specific campaign zone. During the Call to Arms, regular monster kills all have a chance to drop random campaign currencies for that campaign, which can aid in greatly speeding up that campaign progress.

Alternatively for those characters who've finished the campaign, they can grind the extra currency to donate to the Stronghold coffers.

For example, you could have a Call to Arms: Sharandar. Now in all the Sharandar zones and mini-dungeons, Fey Sparks, Crescents, Blades, Charms and Seeds all have a chance to drop from random zone mobs.

call to arms : yet again sharandar i am sure some people are turning their stomachs inside out just thinking of going back to old content : would appreciate new zones or recycled like the one in the event every couple of weeks (a simple map and 5 heroics )

Also i am really happy with the drop for the first time it is worth killing things besides marks at the end of the event.

I like this event in general. HOWEVER, there IS one issue. Specifically, the Aid to Neverwinter quest in the Stronghold is bugged. More specifically, one version of the guards is bugged. The guard at the top of the Northern Staircase in the second set of guards, whom are all basically centralized in the Northern sector, DOES NOT WORK. YOU CANNOT INTERACT WITH HIM. THUS YOU CANNOT COMPLETE THE QUEST.

I reported this Monday or Tuesday of this week. Twice, after I spent some time TRYING and TRYING to actuate the guard. I expected it to be fixed Thursday. And was, as is the norm for NW, disappointed. It would be nice for ONE time, JUST ONCE, for NW to issue a major mod or campaign that was FLAWLESS. Hasn't happened in over two years, mind you, but one can always HOPE.

Yep yep, I echo the sentiments. Despite our guilds not being small at all and are very high ranked, it gave us a much needed boost and saved us a lot of time. Much appreciated!

A very nice event to help guilds and to give lower level characters a taste at fighting dragons. Just wanted to mention something that happened in game yesterday that I have never seen before and can't find any comments on. Just after fighting finishing a "cult assualt", a dialogue appeared on the screen in orange (like a system announcement) that stated "Donn One-Eyed expresses his agreement to Demonia of Lore (my character name)" and standing next to me was the character "Donn One-Eyed". I didn't know what to do or say. Did I miss something I was supposed to do or say? Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Didn't know if this was some type of hack or a admin special que or something.

Nightstalkor-I was able to complete this quest after dropping it and picking it back up again. Hope this helps.

Donn One-Eyed was using an Emote on you. Nothing to panic about unless Donn One-Eyed has stirrings. :p

There is a quick check to see if you have 'the right quest'. If the guard stood next to the main gate, i.e. the one closest to the Master of Coin, has a yellow diamond over his head after you get the quest from the Master of Coin then you are good to go. If not, drop the quest and try again until he does. Repeat as necessary.

necessary was at one time 12 tries in a row for me... and having in mind that there was a maintanece in between and all they had to do was remove, relocate, fix a npc for one of the two new things in the event (and fix the misleading text in the other) i find it quite uncool that we got two new things and both did not pass basic QA - like you know - can it be completed/does it state the right reward...
make them 3 forgott the not charging charger.

On a sidenote i would not be surprised if the vouchers drop rate was actually intended to be lower and they did not bother to fix it (based on what other droprates look like) and got a big prise for that :)

For any devs that ever read this - the number one thing that stops me from making another character is the experience I've ran into as a new player ( who plays a lot and tends to spend a lot ) is the campaign structures.

What these players are suggesting with creating other ways to get campaign currency is spot on advice and should be considered closely.

I played several characters. That stopped as soon as I hit the campaigns. And while I would love to play other classes, I can't rationalize going through the campaign content again. It *does* feel like a job. I mentioned to a buddy today that it didn't even feel like I have been playing the game lately because the first few hours are always doing the exact same daily quests, on multiple campaigns. It's just not fun, and if I do start to have fun, it's over very shortly because the campaigns heavily restrict progress by using lockout timers.

For one boon that I was working on, I literally had to do the same three or four quests everyday for six days. Finding other ways to get campaign progress would lower a huge barrier to buy
