As an additional note, I would advise against leadership. It takes forever to get to 25 and it's not really worth it when you do.

I doubt the drop rate is increased but the speed and ease with which you kill things has, so maybe that's giving you the perception of more.

If you have the Ensorcelled Mulhorand weapons available and they are relatively cheap they are the easiest upgrade until you get your twisted set, unless you love grinding motes.

If an SW is currently being beaten by a CW then the SW is doing something seriously wrong. A good SW will blow any CW out of the water. There are class reworks on the way due to the massive damage spikes a SW can do.
