I don't think anyone is arguing that it's impossible to do a T2 dungeon as a GWF (provided you have other classes in your party). What people are saying is that they're the least useful class.
You just don't get it. Look at this GWF owning in PvP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2osZ7bI9TDw The TR is down to, at most, 90% of his HP by the time he kills the GWF.
I'm starting to become convinced that the GWF apologists are trolls. If you have played any other class, you know that GWF is underpowered, period. If you have run dungeons, you know that GWF is underpowered, period. If you have done PvP, you know that GWF is underpowered, period. You can gear up and min-max your build to…
Given the responses on this thread, I would say that yes, GWF as a class is as bad as everyone says. There seem to be some masochists here who admit that you have to try harder than other classes (ie, GWF is weaker), but then say it's still fun to play. That is pretty much accurate. GWF is a weak/difficult class, and the…
Yes, go to the Manycoins Bank and walk to a teller window on either side. That's your personal bank. The guy standing outside is for accessing the guild bank.
I'm pretty sure that only the really bad GWFs use Sure Strike when facing anything other than a single opponent. I almost always use Weapon Master Strike for the debuff even on a single enemy, and then Sure Strike them. Damage is still weak.
Karma took a bit of a hit from people who got banned for Caturday exploits and people quitting (~5% of our main guild and none from our alt, so less than 5% overall), but we quickly bounced back.
I was running a dungeon with 2 other guildies last night when one of the two randoms ninja'd a purple. S/he didn't respond to us when was asked for the situation to be rectified, so we stopped progressing with the two randoms and held back. The party leader happened to be the second random, and s/he refused to kick the…
I'm shocked that nobody has discovered the GWF's true role in dungeons yet. The secret lies in our Sprint ability. All you have to do is wait for the rest of your party to kill everything in a room, and then hold down Shift to activate your Sprint while picking up all the loot. GWF is by far the best class at picking up…
I have the Bladestorm set, and it seems pretty good. I also like the Recovery bonus, though Crit does hurt when using the set. I tried to balance it out by equiping rings and clothing that grant crit bonuses.
Apparently during alpha testing, GWF was extremely OP. They nerfed them, but probably too much, and now they're the red-headed stepchild of character classes.
I heard a while back that they were looking into it. However, they've been busier fixing the major bugs and exploits, so they haven't really done anything to class balance since the open beta launch. I suspect we'll start to see some improvements at some point, but I couldn't guess when that would be.
This pretty much sums up life as a GWF at higher levels. It would help immensely if they let us level the Cleric companion over 15. I have the panther companion at around level 20 and the cleric is still a better option in tough fights.
I agree that this is extremely annoying. I don't know my password because I use a password manager to store it. Therefore, every time I want to switch characters, I have to go copy and paste my password into the game as well. It's an unnecessary waste of time.
The system was clearly not set up by someone with a grasp of basic game theory and the Prisoner's Dilemma specifically. I would definitely support only allowing Greed and Pass on unusable items. That seems like a better solution than binding an item (especially when not identified) to a character any time they roll Need…
Last night, two different people in my guild (that I know of!) experienced this happening not once, but multiple times. At least in some cases they reported the offending players. It completely ruins PvP and makes me lose pretty much all interest in doing it.
I can't really picture beating Chartillifax with a pick-up group unless I got very lucky. I played it last night with guildies and four of us were in Mumble. We got wiped two or three times before we finally succeeded by appointing a full-time Cleric babysitter and immediately calling everyone off the dragon when adds…
Is there any word on what is going to happen to our celestial coins or whatever they are that expire if we don't invoke every day? I was unable to play last night due to the outage :(
