  • "That elk is my kill." "No, MY kill! I saw it first!" "Yeah, well I've got a bow." "OH, I see how it is, so are you THREATENING me now, HUH!?" "Yeah, I am!" "ROOARRR!!"
  • The only thing Hammer is good for now is as a way to become temporarily CC immune (while it's casting) if you know a big stunlock is coming and want to interfere with it. But since you effectively immobilize yourself while using the spell, the usefulness is still kind of limited.
  • @braanu Just as a btw, the new class is pretty assuredly an Archery Ranger (based on non-subtle hints in interviews). So, probably not a healer. I would have thought they'd want to get a ranger ready in time for the release of something with a name like Feywild, but I'm guessing it got pushed back.
  • I'm switching to Virtuous spec after the patch. If my hunch is right, it's going to be the best spec to be in for the direction DCs are being shoved by the developers. If my hunch is wrong... well, I don't play NW very often anymore anyway, and I can always wait for the next free respec update. But since my AP gain during…
  • If they don't want clerics to heal, they need to tune content better, give Sentinels more help with Threat, and not give clerics two paragon feat trees that are obviously healing-oriented. At this point a DPS cleric is going to heal nearly as well as full-on healing spec'd cleric. It's nearly like that already, but still...
  • I'm starting to wonder if the best party composition to run 5 mans with is about to be... like... 5 GFs/GWFs. Also I would like the Punishing Light divinity cost decrease if Punishing Light was worth using more often than once in a blue moon. Its DPS isn't even that good, and I usually have better things to do with my…

  • This seems to have been created with Virtuous in mind. I don't know if it'll be any good or not, but it does seem to have been created for Virtuous.
  • Well, most DC builds would be hitting Tab less frequently during boss fights than we do right now, if it was set up for Blue = Friendly stuff and Yellow = Enemy Stuff and we had a healing At-will that we could use while our encounters were on cooldown. While some number of "Tab fails" would surely happen, I don't think it…
  • I don't know how high of a level your cleric is, but the consensus of the DC community has typically been that Soothing and Punishing are both terrible abilities to rely upon in challenging level 60 content. (If that view has substantially changed in the month or so that I've been gone, someone please let me know.) They…
  • Guarding comes very much in handy for negating certain abilities in PvP, but I see your point. Divine Power really does feel (to me) like it was built more for a Battle Cleric who's going to be in the fray beating guys up with a series of attacks while throwing a spell periodically, rather than for a Devoted Cleric who's…
  • Fixing that typo, thanks. I had forgotten it's only the right click power. Still, what I said about Soothing/Punishing obviously applies. I'm going to tweak the OP to reflect the correct information. p.s. in response to echokazul: My guess is that there would have been differing versions for each. For all I know, Brand of…
  • Lulz, yeah, I saw that 2 million claim as well. Like others have already said... it's marketing BS. There probably have been 2 million accounts made. Retention, however, is obviously not so well off.
  • Tene procs are unlikely to get nerfed, because they're a motivator for buying ZEN. (Of course, they may eventually get nerfed once they've been milked for that for a while -- but timely nerfs? No, I expect that those won't be happening.) Heavy handed nerfs are likely, because they're a motivator for buying respec tokens or…
  • I've wondered this myself.
  • The ideal thing to do to kill an Astral Shield cleric in PvP has always been to simply punt them out of it, then disable them, and blow them up. Cleric is now oven-baked and done. Just saying.
  • I don't expect clerics to heal through 10k and 30k crits. I expect them to anticipate this happening and use Break the Spirit on a person who is about to deal massive damage (to reduce their damage output, thereby making those shiny crits and dailies less lethal) and then Astral Shield or Hallowed Ground the teammate who's…
  • @maevar1 Oh, I don't really think a TR should gear for defense in PvP. You of all classes probably should gear yourself to kill squishy targets as fast as possible, because that (alongside Dazing utility) is pretty much your job. My advice is more-so geared toward the numerous DCs and CWs (and the occasional fighter) who…
  • People do also need to stop building glass cannon equipment / running glass cannon ability loadouts on non-tanking classes and then complaining that they're dying to the single target burst damage class. The "rogue rage" that is still going on seems to be greatly exaggerated, as far as the amount of insta-gibbing that's…
  • I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I am glad about the AS changes -- all of them. I'm also glad about the threat changes. (I figure that we should leave the majority of the cleritanking to the Battle Cleric, when it's inevitably made and released.) Prior to the patch, I didn't like the way that the Devoted Cleric…
  • Cleric Companion is pretty much the best companion in the game until you get your Ioun Stone of Allure (or a Cat if you prefer that, but Ioun Stone seems to be mathematically stronger at the moment).
  • Daring Shout and Roar (two of our Encounter powers, which you'll get later) also generate Determination per target hit. If you successfully hit a crowd with both of them, you should be able to go from 0% determination to a total of around 50%, which is enough to pop Unstoppable for partial benefits (including the crowd…
  • One thing that bothers me is that Conquest GFs (their DPS spec) can hold threat waaaaaay better than our Sentinel (tanking) spec can, while still not being all THAT squishy. (Now, I'm not asking to be as good as a GF of any spec at holding threat, but I would like to come closer than I currently feel like I am.) Our…
  • I would like the option to be able to "memorize" a target in such a way that the game "remembers" it while I go about my business doing other things and targeting other creatures. Then, when I want to target the thing I have "memorized," I could push a button to instantly turn my camera toward the target and lock my…
  • My party was just critically failing at realizing that standing in PK's red is a bad idea. His circular AoE drain in particular was destroying them because our three PUG melee fighters (GF, GWF, and TR) all tried to stick on him while he did it. It was terrible. xD The conal AoE drain/grab wasn't what was usually killing…
  • Yeah I like using Glow on Karrundax, particularly if I have the spare divinity to buff my TR with it at the same time.
  • Confirmed, Linked Spirit is indeed ridiculously good. Combining it with the offense buffs from HG or divine-mode Divine Glow is just crazy. Also, Linked Spirit seriously needs to have its scale-up limited to a maximum amount of NO MORE THAN 25% (the amount you get from using it on five targets) - otherwise I suspect the 20…
  • Divine-mode Astral shield for the party (who should be keeping Bartholomew near the wall if you're on it, since your range is limited). Forgemaster's Flame for either building divinity if you're low or turning one enemy into a nice AoE healing beacon if you have the divinity to spare. The last slot should be some other…
  • Bump for great justice. Does anyone know?
  • Depends on how your team is running. If your CW is good at perma-black-holing adds and if your GWF is effective at killing or offtanking them, then just burning the boss using the TR still seems to be a fine enough plan. That said, if you're having issues, feel free to give a slower run of the fight a try. Just remember…
  • Yeah, old Barty is still not a big deal for the most part. Teammates dealing with the adds effectively (and not standing in his AoEs a lot) is needed, but that's about it.
