I cannot claim expertise, as my highest level character is my cleric at 39 (and parked because I'm tired of being a tank in chainmail) The ONLY party dynamic I've seen work flawlessly is: GF and TR on boss, GWF and CW on trash, DC focusing heals on GF/TR, with situational healing on the GWF/CW. Still, until cleric threat…
For many, the journey is far more important than the destination. I don't WANT to rush to 60 for end game content. I want to be an effective tank at level 10, so my level 10 cleric friend doesn't take all the aggro.
The GF does not generate enough threat. Period. At level 30, my cleric is tank, heals, AND third dps in every instance I run with him. The guardian fighter is usually 2nd tank, bottom dps.
But... you CAN see your paragon skills. Also, due to the way the skill tiers are unlocked, you really dont have a lot of planning to do. And frankly, I've looked at the paragon skills for both the cleric and the wizard at the moment, and wont be using either. There is nothing in game that is hidden, and respecs are not…
I watched my queue go from 4k+ all the way down to 165... was getting excited, then it jumped up to 4k+ again. I know I am not a "hero of the north" and dont get priority log in... but I am still a "guardian of the north" and if this continues past today, I will want my money back.
The inclusion of the Drow race as a reward for the HotN pack is one reason I DIDN'T purchase the pack, as I will not play what will be the most played race in the game... for the same reason I wont play hunters or deathknights in WoW... the reputation of most players of those classes. And for the love of all thats holy,…
Your DXDIAG doesnt seem to report a video card. What is your video hardware? Also, you ran the 32 bit dxdiag on a 64 bit OS. Try running the 64 bit dxdiag... and be aware, HP *loves* to ship computers with on-motherboard "Intel Hi-def video" hardware. If you don't have a separate video card, chances are thats your issue.
I started playing in 1981. Played through 3.5, then the military moved me to the "buckle of the bible belt", Abilene Texas... the groups there are so afraid of persecution that they are insular and unfriendly to newcomers, so my tabletop gaming days came to a screeching halt. Computer-game-wise, I played all the gold box…
I paid $60.00, because thats the going rate for a new game at the store. The only games in the past that I have paid $200 for offered me a "try before you buy", and convinced me it was worth it. I almost didnt buy the $60.00 pack either, because I have three tests and two papers due in the next two weeks... but hey. I can…
Because if I hit you with a sword, staff, mace, or any other hard object, you are going to stop fighting. You may not die right away, but its not going to take me 5-20 hits to take you out. My biggest gripe about SWTOR was that it DID take 5-6 hits with a *lightsaber* to disable an opponent. Granted, its a fantasy game.…
R.A. Salvatore wrote stories *within* the Forgotten Realms... but the Forgotten Realms setting was created by Ed Greenwood and others... not R.A. Salvatore. Even the Drow elves were introduced in an OLD module series starting with "Against the Giants" and ending with "Demon Queen of the Spiderweb Pits". Salvatore purchased…
I devlop character concepts and play them, regardless of any bonuses acquired. RPing characters with actual weaknesses is fun, and the archetypal dwarf warrior is just as fun as a human warrior (some would say more fun) despite not being "as good stat-wise". Back in the day of pencil and paper D&D, we played concepts, not…
Actually, the original D&D had exactly four classes. T$R made bank on it. However, tying bits of other posts in here: A fighter should be a fighter. His or her FEATS should make him a "guardian" or a "great weapon fighter". The difference between members of the same class should be based on player selected individual…
Frankly, I'd have spent the $200.00 if they had given me even a single day of "try it out" of any sort. I am not ABOUT to drop $200 on a free game that I haven't been able to experience. No money for unproven product. Sad for the developers, I have 200$ lifetime subs to The Secret World and LOTRO. Both gave me a 1-3 day…
