Right, Ancillary. Believe me, I don't want anything that resembles Vow of Poverty 3e Psyker/Monk builds. That said, laser cleric is also a thing I never wanted. I think it's fair to say I will never see a DnD *computer game* that properly allows me to make 'my' cleric. There were some minor conditions with the GM to get…
Actually, if you kept reading, he goes on to state that 'violent games' is a BS metric, but since most hardcore gamers DO play games with some modicum of violence in them, as opposed to say Farmville, it is still part of the metric. However, it is the least heavily weighted point in the entire thing being worth 1 of 100.…
Here ya go Lightspeed. The only reason I bring special attention to Hopeless2's Gamasutra link was because I felt there was something important to consider here, which is that I didn't base my criticisms off of what is/is not hardcore. It isn't DnD, ok. It's not even the previous incarnations of Neverwinter, which were…
YAY WALL OF TEXT! *needs to post shorter posts...* There's something at the bottom that isn't directed at THIS guy, FYI. Couple things.. First off, if you're going to throw the DM card out there, I spent High School as an online Rifts GM, for precisely the reasons you outline there-no one else would put on their big boy…
I didn't think there was anything especially wrong with the graphics, though I'd point out that I actually LIKE the idea of 'racially' themed equipment that is in 4e. I didn't play long enough to figure out if the game had racially themed equipment overall or not... but I'd guess no (easier/cheaper to implement). I had…
Actually, I agree that WoW is more DnD like than this. This is an action game (which I appreciate), but at the same time, I wanted there to be a few simple choices early in the game that would bring a lot more flavor to the characters. As you say, you are completely locked into your progression path save for some…
This is what I was saying. There's two people in this whole thread that clearly don't get that, and I already blasted one of them. The other I think I'll let slide because I want to save my righteous indignation for rare occasions as opposed to it becoming the go-to standard. To elaborate, I think they are off to a great…
Not a bad list, oldskylancer, but one thing. We need a Sorcerer variant in this game. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Sorc in 4e, but it is a truly valid divergence from Wiz and Warlock *in 4e.* I'd also like to see Warlord, but that one I can understand not being terribly attractive to implement. I'm also not sure…
To you, the one guy in here who totally misses the point. I don't care that you felt like you had to take a pot shot at me personally at the end of your little comment, but since you did, the least I can do is return what you asked for. I don't give a **** what's buried in the UI to make one class tanky, or another class…
My Cleric of Lathander wields dual swords to slay evil and restore hope to the downtrodden (swords are more expensive than maces and are the REAL weapon of any self respecting cleric of Lathander, you realize). Looks like we're a HELL of a lot further out from ALL the extended Cleric builds, not just the basic ones.
