And it is not sound business sense to completely ignore them either. Those "whiners" often encompass an element that is trying to be more than reasonable but has reached the point where they can no longer look past the previous failings of the company in question. The customer isn't always right. But it isn't always wrong…
Probably because they think that if something is covetted on a cash shop, then the game is pay 2 win. Regardless of the fact that the covetted items are actually optional.
Yes, because refusing to listen to your customerbase is a sound business decision. I mean they'd just carry on playing and giving you money like they did in SWG.... Oh wait.
I agree. The same goes for ANY translation of a book into a different entertainment medium. Like you say the experience that a reader has of a story is open to their own interpretation of the events and environments that are described in the book. Which is probably why people often say "its not as good as the book". Take…
Completely agree. From what I've seen, I've been quite surprised at the level of detail in dungeons in this game. After playing STO, I really didn't think that Cryptic had it in them. What we are seeing now is just a foundation for the future. So the present state of the game gives me just a little hope that given some…
Whether they sell things before or after a launch date, really has no bearing on whether this game is in beta. Remember that in this day and age people are "buying" things as part of kickstarter contributions for games, well before the launch date of the game. FYI, they've already said that there won't be another wipe.
Hmm.. Well, I can certainly understand what you mean when you mention about certain aspects missing (such as Wizards id'ing things by spells etc). Ever since I played DDO and realised the potential of creating more "interactivity" in dungeons, I've long since been a big advocate of having things like secret doors etc that…
What every "whiner" on here expects is to be given a bit of notice when servers are going to be taken down for "scheduled maintenance", that is called courtesy and overrides whether or not this game is in open beta or post-launch state. The fact is that if you make arrangements to do something, but are prevented from doing…
Its a cash shop. There has to be items on it that will entice people to buy them or it would be a waste of time. Besides, from what I see, all of the items on it are optional. Not mandatory.
I agree. Why they decided to do maintenance on a Sunday rather than tomorrow (as per their launcher message) is beyond me. If it was an emergency I'd understand. But they didn't give any indication that it was.
They've already said that they got the date wrong on the launcher, and failed to give in-game warnings. they've acknowledged their mistake. Maybe it won't happen again in the future.
Although your post is off-topic I'd like to respond. I'd disagree that this game isn't in the spirit of D&D. I used to play D&D, and have played numerous D&D computer games. Aside from a Dungeon-Master voice narrating over your gameplay, I think this game does quite well in trying to capture some of the essence of D&D. The…
It's all very well preaching for patience, but wouldn't you be a slightly bit annoyed if you had made arrangements to do something with someone only for them to fail to notify you of a change in plans, especially when they KNEW about it in advance? I know I would. So I think people can be forgiven for getting a little…
Agreed. However, reading the last post by the admin, it would appear that this situation wasn't actually intended: Hence why I've edited my post. So, I'll forgive them just this once. They admitted they were at fault. Hopefully we'll get clearer communication on downtime in the future.
Whilst I will acknowledge that certain aspects of the game require a bit of tweaking for reasons other than the one you give, your argument how these things are promoting bad behaviour is like saying how violence in video games forces people to go out and kill others. The only things that promote bad behaviour, is the…
