Clear your save data. This happened to me and then I tested in another MMO, had sound and could speak, cleared save data for the game and then I had my voice chat back.

I don't even have one of those silver things you need yet to post anything. I would think people would hold onto these items and sell them for when the hard launch occurs though and not during pre-launch when everyone has the things.

I opened a ticket as well. Definitely didn't get the third slot. Opened/closed the game to double check.
