Thanks for this PvP update. Another suggestion is to allow those queuing to get into a group that is not full after the AFK members are no longer in the party! Thanks for this update!

It could be a level difference situation. Next time you are able to login and are in the same scenario you described, determine each of your party members levels and see if someone is significantly higher than everyone else. I still suspect it is not working as intended.
