Insulting the people that use insulting names because they're insulting those of us that don't agree with insulting names gets us nowhere. Everybody has their own set of opinions. My opinion and wish is that we would all just try to be our kindest selves and respect that some words are triggers for people.
I'll admit, I assumed you were taking the idea directly from WoW which does NOT allow you to trade any of the stuff that you get anymore. If it was still BoE, that would be better... but still a pain in my rear when I'd much rather it just be automatic. Less work for me, yknow.
The reason why I hate that loot system is because if I receive an item that I don't need, I personally feel like everybody should have a chance to get it, especially if I'm not the only one in the group that could actually use it.
This would sure be dandy, if you could choose a default. "Always greed unless item is usable." Or "Always pass unless item is usable." Either way, it would be a lot less for me to worry about.

Actually, concerning the fact that there is an entire internet culture (and subculture and sub-subculture), the internet is definitely a society. Now, whether it is civilized is up to debate, but it is definitely a society.
Why do you have to be old or young or religious or prudish or any other type of person to not want to see vulgar names? Many 4-letter curse words are derogatory toward women, and some are derogatory toward men too. I don't see what's so wrong with not wanting to see this type of language in daily life, let alone in a game…
