Besides that this is 1 of only 2 threads I have provided commentary on - this one about companions in PvP, and the other one about PvP in general - it really doesn't matter to me how many players read it how many times. If just 1 dev reads it and realises the great folly they are about to partake in, my mission is…
Do you really want to fight me after I've bought full BiS companions and enchants for them? Because here's the thing - I can afford to dump 200 dollars on a game and not sweat it (note: it will take much more than that to gear up, but there will be people who do it). I can join a whole guild full of people who all dump…
I think they should go ahead and increase the amount of active companions you can have to 10, as well as 2 summoned. If you want to make money off of companions, do it right.
Yes, it will be the challenge of breaking out your wallet to stay competitive. PvP can be and already is challenging without companions. Open world can and would be challenging and competitive without companions. With companions, it's straight up P2W. Well, I'd rather pay to play a different game. One where you can't turn…
The new PvP area makes me very sad. Domination, with only 2 maps since release, has become very boring, and including pets in PvP means that the biggest "competition" taking place their is the amount of disposable income you can throw at your opponent. Not even worth mentioning how buying greater stones of health and…
I suppose there's going to be all sorts of new ways for Cryptic to capitalize on the players willing to spend absurd amounts of money for correspondingly absurd amounts of power using their pets in pvp.
You haven't OC'd your Vishera yet? Pleb. Sitting at 4.95 Anyways, just for a laugh, use B to disable your UI and watch your framerate drastically increase. For some reason the least optimized and biggest FPS hog in the game is the UI. Maybe - just maybe - disabling companions in open world PvP would cut down on the clutter…
The Tiefling racial ability has been bugged since launch. The GF ability "Knight's Valour," has had multiple bugs since launch. The GF ability "Knight's Challenge," when it changed last patch, came with a bug that was reported mutiple times on the test shard. Several CW abilities have been bugged since launched, and do not…
I lost all of my excitement for module 3 once I heard that companions were going to be useable in PvP. I haven't even logged in since the patch notes went up. Module 3 sounded really, really good too. I pretty much lost all interest in PvE after Artifacts from Mod 2 trivialized the dungeon delving experience. Coming out…
The queue seems to prefer and work much better with solo players. I get in relatively fast and into consecutive, good matches solo queuing, but every additional teammate exponentially increases queue times.
If people want a p2w area let them take their hundreds of dollars worth of companions to a tiny little p2w corner where I can do PvP with other PLAYERS away from them. If I'm not mistaken PvP stands for Player vs Player. Lets not joke about their being any skill involved in summoning a companion whose AI you have…
I have been part of a team of 5 organized, experienced, and well geared players (rank 8-10 and perfect enchants), who repeatedly won matches against premades, but had no emblems, and went up against a premade with 4 of them. We lost 1000-0. We are by no means the best PvP team ever, but seeing as how we had won every match…
And you can bet those people will have the 5 BiS companions on day 1 all decked out with rank 10 enchants and BiS gear of their own. The gap in power between the credit card heroes and the regular players will be HUGE when companions are involved in PvP.
Including companions in PvP of any kind is a terrible, terrible idea. When I consider the cost in time and money of buying, upgrading, and equipping 5 companions to stay competitive in PvP, and compare that cost to, say, the cost of a shiny, brand new MMO with a subscription fee where I can't be outgeared in a moments…
Don't forget that every match takes 45 minutes. No thanks, not at all. Not having a mount is the reason I don't queue for pvp before level 20. Just plain too slow.
For 15 seconds? That's 2 rotations of encounter powers where the enemy can go full out on you and you have to suffer it without retaliation or fill your enemies HP bar. I tend to use prones and back off, but even then there's a good chance their Healing Depression will wear off and their regen, depressed or not, is ticking…
I don't see the problem in letting two DCs duel each other if they want to. In fact I don't see any problems with any two people dueling if they want to do so.
I would very much like to be able to directly challenge another player to a duel or player's party to a match by simply clicking F on them. I can understand why this would be frowned upon in Protector's Enclave, but any other instance should suffice.
Unfortunately Neverwinter's Elo system does NOT group you with or against players with similar ratings. It attempts to balance teams by placing a high ranked player on a team with 4 low ranked players against another high ranked player on a team with 4 more low ranked players. Or moves 1 high ranked player and 4 low ranked…
Really, the saddest part of that video is that 23k damage is enough to one shot players at full health. Let me just give you the smallest, most basic advice for PvP: You Need More HP Than That.
I don't think the leaver penalty should be lifted but I think if a proper match cannot be found it should freeze your Elo score. I guess I'd rather play a bad match than no match at all, but I certainly don't want it affecting my ranking.
