Ranger is my main class in DDO and im now onto my third life but i still play Neverwinter on the side and since the new ranger class came out i thought cool finally! I'm currently at level 12 and its been fun so far. A couple of things i don't like is the lack of range and the lack of elemental damage on bows (actually…
I started with DDO and its my main game but i do play Neverwinter as well... for me its more the fact that DDO feels much more like D&D to me than Neverwinter does, they have tried to stay true to D&D as much as they could where Neverwinter has not.
Yeah thats what i ment one class but you pick what path it will follow at Character creation... as for the fighters being pigeon holed into one weapon or 1 weapon and a shield that just seems crazy to me and not what DnD is supposed to be like.
Well they could add the TWF Tempest ranger for someone with your tastes and the Arcane Archer for someone like me who likes dealing big damage from range.
yes that's right i can see what he is saying there but i still think that as a DnD game it should have launched with at least the main DnD classes and not a few like it has done. I cant see why you would release a DnD MMO and not have the base classes available to play! it just seems silly to me. How dumb is it that there…
One of the things that really lets Neverwinter down is the lack of build/character customization... like you say everyone of the players is just one of the 4 or 5 builds available. I realise its a new game but they should have at least had the main DnD classes available at launch! DDO launched with all the main ones so why…
At the moment i dont see why traps are even in dungeons! they are an absolute joke and so obvious its just silly... nobody but a rogue should be able to spot a trap and there should be a decent punishment for just running blindly around a dungeon and not thinking about them.
I couldnt disagree more... Rogues in this game are not what i would call a Rogue! to me a Rogue gets all his DPS from backstabbing and sneak attacks and should not be able to out DPS a fighter front on.
One thing that has annoyed me is having to re open chests when in a party... one person should open it then everyone should be able to just click on the open chest and get the loot.
fair enough atm that the classes are forced into using a few weapons but if that changes then my rouge should be able to use a club against skeletons and should get DR on skellies when using daggers or slashing weapons.
I think alot of the problems that people complain about are due to the 4e rules completely changing many of the classes into a narrowed down version of the old ones... the rogue for example went from a backstabbing stealth trap disarming character to a massive DPS assassin and not much more. Also it seems the action combat…
ok my mistake :) i think clerics should be able to rez but there must be penalties for dying like temporary hitpoint loss and equipment damage etc just to even things out.
I was thinking more along the lines of 3.5 style where at level 8 or 9 you can raise dead to a quarter of their hit points then at later levels half then full...
Traps in dungeons need to be more than a minor inconvenience, in fact you should be severely hurt if you don't have a rogue to find and disarm traps. Clerics should be healers and not potions! you should be able to have a cleric companion who can heal you like a potion currently does. Clerics should be able to raise dead!…
could not agree more after all that one of the key roles of a rogue!! also make the traps invisible to everyone else and have rogues spot them... also bonus xp for disarming all the traps is a good idea.
I never got why people thought it was HAMSTER... i liked it and still do! at least they didnt have to live up to everyone's per-conceived ideas of what it should be like a la Forgotten Realms and now they expanding into the realms you have the best of both worlds.
I could not agree more about the Rogue's! Rogues should never be the tank class! they are there to back stab, disarm traps, find secret doors and use ranged weapons. Basically they should be skirting the fights letting the "tank" draw the agro while they come in from behind and back stab. Also I found the same thing as you…
