Yes the spam is terrible in the enclave will it kill the game due to that probably not, just switch chat to the Log tab and you only have to see damage and healing being done to the players in the town instead of the same six people spamming about a item they've already put on the auction house.

In game chat can sometimes be very laggy your best bet is to invite everyone to a party then either wait and see if someone joins or sends you an invite since they already had a party started.
