This is not beta lol. They can call it beta all they want, but that is just a crutch. When sever wipes are no longer and option and revenue is generated, it is launch. They just call it beta because it is incomplete and buggy as hell, but calling a HAMSTER a tulip won't make it smell any better.
I agree 100%. It is nice to read a post that is so well written and says what I have been thinking so much better than I ever could. The guys at Cryptic should play close attention to what this guy just said.
Yea bro my thoughts exactly. I spent 70 bucks on the game and had an amazing time. I don't regret it at all, but the kind of bugs that they allowed into launch for the length of time they allowed them has all but ruined the end-game experience for me. Also, I know many of you have your flames ignited and ready burn me over…
Why are so many people convinced that a wipe is the only solution? That sounds like a knee-jerk reaction. If your arm is mangled by a wild animal do you have to amputate? Possibly, but let the surgeon make that decision, not the butcher. My point is that very few of us are experts in game development, sure some of you…
You worry too much about the economy. The currency of the economy will correct itself over time, sure it will mean inflation, but soon the currency will spread around and it won't really matter. That is assuming that a good portion of the artificial currency is removed. Of course there is also the issue of an abundance of…
Lol well putting new servers up at the moment is not a priority. Right now they are finding out what happened, who was involved, the total impact to the economy, how to fix the bug, and deciding what if anything aside from targeted bans and individual character wipes to do in order to correct the problem. They may bring up…
I've spent $70 on zen and have no regrets about it. However, if a full wipe was done, I wouldn't reroll. Of course it is all a mute point because there won't be a wipe. They already said they wouldn't wipe and because they did, millions of dollars of zen was purchased. They can and will fix it, but it won't be by wiping.
It is a bad analogy, but I think he is right. There are other options to fix the game and economy than a wipe. A small rollback might be needed though. As bad as all this seems, it really isn't game ending unless we let it be. I enjoy the game and will continue to play it either way until I no longer enjoy it.
The time for wipes has passed. If something bad enough happens, we may see a short rollback, but for issues like this they will just snipe specific accounts.
It means a lot. For one thing it removes much of the artificially inflated currency and items from the game. Obviously not all, but some. Also it removes that players account. Sure, it may be free to create another one, but you lose any zen purchases, all your gear, and have to start fresh. We see the same thing in other…
Between twitter, facebook, and this forum, I'd say this team has EXCELLENT communication. If you are exploiting, you know you are doing it, so why cry about the punishment when you get busted? You can play the innocent victim, ignorant in the knowledge that you were exploiting, but no one buys that. If banning cheaters is…
