I agree that this is totally unfair. I understand that there needs to be a queue right now due to extreme demand on the servers. But those who have paid good money to support a free-to-play game, prior to launch, shouldn't be subjected to it. Particularly when they've just been in game, and then get disconnected. Please…
I was blindly invited to this guild during beta weekend three, and I thought, "Hey, the name doesn't sound too bad, why not?" I hadn't really been seriously looking for a guild yet, and when I joined, I didn't particularly care about being a part of the guild or sticking with them into release. However, after spending time…
This is a fantastic series of posts. Thank you so much for writing all of this up. I feel that these are issues that need to be given serious, immediate consideration by Cryptic. The suggestions given here are very good ones, and I want to see them implemented. I hope this gets in front of the eyes of the developers!
Yeah, I knew about that novelization. Want to read something else really cool? Check out the original Vision Document for Torment: http://www.rpgwatch.com/files/Files/00-0208/Torment_Vision_Statement_1997.pdf I wish we'd see more game designers coming up with ideas like this!
I backed this for more than my pledges for the other five games I've backed on Kickstarter combined. This is the game I've been waiting and asking for someone to make for the last 13 years. Even if it's only half as good as Planescape: Torment was, it'll still be twice as good as every other RPG that's come out since PS:T.
I don't especially care to play something "revolutionary" anyway. I just want to play something GOOD, and something that is relevant to my interests. Neverwinter is definitely those things.
I think it begins with trying to think about your character as a CHARACTER, not just a "toon" or "avatar" for playing the video game with. Think about who they ARE, what their motivations and personality are, and how they see the world. Try to immerse yourself into the mindset of your character, as you go through the game…
I can tell you for certain that all mobs in Foundry missions scale to the level of the person playing the mission, and there's no level requirement. You can go into an adventure full of Mind Flayers when you're level 4, and they will be level 4 Mind Flayers. Or if you play it at level 30, they'll be level 30 Mind Flayers.…
This is super exciting. I've been wanting to test the Foundry for a long time now! It's really the number one thing that I'm interested in as far as Neverwinter goes, and I think the main element in the game's future success. I can't wait to get my hands on the Foundry and see what it's capable of!
This is amazing! Definitely the single best suggestion post I've read on these forums. If I could pick one thing someone has suggested to be added to the game, THIS would be it. I really hope that Cryptic does something at least similar to this, because I think that as it stands now, the sheer number of Foundry quests that…
I hadn't heard this. All of the Foundry missions I did in the last beta weekend, I did solo. But if this is the case, that's actually really great news.
Yeah, a combination of number 1 and number 4 there seems like the best way forward. Don't let anyone tell you how you can or can't play your character.
