I'll venture a guess here - The game will release on February 14, 2013, just in time for a Valentine's Day US release party (because we love the game sooooo much). :D
Aye, Gill, here's hoping we'll have at least the minimums of customization for the UI. I'm a minimalist when it comes to "interference" on the screen, as I see it. I much prefer being able to play without having to cope with lots of windows, hotkey bars, maps, etc., in locations I can't control to some extent. I'm also a…
I played my last DDO over a month ago. Turbine pulled the football away one too many times, imo. Waiting to see what will happen with NWO. In the meantime, playing lots of Hearts and Chess Titans
As I understand it, the E3 show was mostly a combat demo. Hopefully there will be plenty of locks and traps depending on dungeon type when the game releases.
Personally, I'd rather see the beta start than have an updated forum. Once beta starts the forums will probably get updated as some resources are freed up from the heavy development cycles and alpha testing. At least, that's how it works in theory. b:laugh
I'm a wait-and-see person, rather than a predictor. We don't know what stage the development is in at this point, and the game could be in alpha testing as I write this reply.
This is a possibility. I expect we'll have a drop point, similar to that other DnD game, where everyone starts. Remember, solo play will also be available, rather than the forced grouping at all levels of PnP.
Some good questions here. I'm thinking this is information that won't be released just yet. I'm hoping there will be several options for weapon use, even allowing use of non-standard weapons for a given class (e.g. - Longsword for wizard).
If leveling is based on visits to trainers or class guild representatives, not levelling might be as simple as not visiting those level-granter NPC's. DDO uses such a system, and not leveling to experience content, or wait for friends to reach level, is as simple as not visiting the trainer. If leveling is based solely on…
Seems to me this could go either way in a DnD setting. Racial starter zones for backstory, or common starter zones based on already-developed, multi-racial cities and villages. I expect a single starter zone, but will be quite happy to be proven wrong. :)
