This is just the big announcement about the overarching changes. I'm hungry for details too, but I'm guessing those will all be discussed in the upcoming preview threads
@"midnightlight#2361" First, thanks for the update. I'm looking forward to hearing more as this has always been a major frustration for me. I'm guessing these are plans for mod16? Or, because (I'm guessing) this is a console only change could we see changes sooner? Either way, glad to know this is being looked at.
The game has occasionally been automatically popping up the "Are you sure you want to change characters" prompt without me doing anything. Happened after every single load screen in CODG last night. I am not going into my menu or attempting to change characters in any way. 1 other friend I was in chat wish experienced the…
This is mostly right. Couple notes. Always run aura of courage and aura of wisdom. All the other auras on paladin either aren't needed, or just straight up bad. In particular, aura of life auto revives, but also gives res sickness which will screw up anyone who wants to use a scroll of life the next time they die. For…
These are the 2 basic loadouts I run for 95% of my time in neverwinter (Mod 14). AoE: Spellstorm Paragon Conduit of Ice (Spell Mastery), Icy Terrain, Steal Time, Disintegrate. Chilling Presence and Storm Spell for passives. Oppressor with 15 in Thaum for Elemental Reinforcement Decanter of Atropal Essence, Wheel of…
So I completely forgot to ask the most important question about these changes.. Does Disintegrate still actually disintegrate enemies if you kill them with it?
@dupeks for a dps build there's no reason not to take the renegade capstone. You have to go all the way down the tree anyways to get uncontrolled obliteration and chaos magic is only 1 point more. The Ren/Opp capstones are lackluster, but the tier of feats right before them are what you're aiming for and if you're already…
There are a few really excellent changes that stand out here: Base damage changes + chilling presence/bugged feat changes arcane mastery stack changes and arcane power field interaction Chaos Magic allowing multiple buffs to be active However, There is only 1 tree now for PvE DPS, Renegade. Oppressor has been gutted from a…
Have you tried turning it off and back on again? Seriously have you tried de-summoning and re-summoning your companion? Sometimes enchants don't click in till that happens.
Doesn't look like the fixes for the Orcus set are in the patch notes (unless I'm blind - which is possible). @nitocris83 would you be able to confirm the orcus set isn't being updated day 1 of Ravenloft?
The optimal party is a group of 5 people who understand boss mechanics and know how to build and play their class and utilize the buffs being provided by their teammates. Everything else is just gravy.
The second DC doesn't add any powershare. Weapons of light doesn't stack, and DO DCs don't have access to Blessings of Battle or Anointed Army (the only other sources of DC powershare). So yes, both parties you listed can power share the same amount, and the second group can get even higher power with dark revelry.
If you're trying to imply that people with gear better suited to their builds finish dungeons faster than I absolutely agree with you, and don't see this as a problem. I was referring to speed outside of combat, running between fights makes up a significantly larger portion of dungeons than most people give credit for.…
If everyone was playing optimally (at the item level you listed) the difference between party 1 and 2 might be a couple minutes, and that's mostly because group 1 has ITF for a speed boost between fights...
Those are all fair points. I was indeed talking from an endgame perspective in the current stat curves. If drastic changes like new stat curves are around the corner then there's not much point to any theory crafting because it'll be a completely different context to theory craft around.
Every time I tried to think of a different proc for chaos magic it was always useless or just a different version of fury. There's also the issue that luck based buffs tend to be bad in the burst dps state the game is currently in. Crit Severity for example is pretty much just another form of a damage boost like fury. I…
@"jaime4312#3760" I do run knight's challenge even as a tact because my tact is a bit of a hybrid. I still rarely loose health in an end game group. Yes sometime I'll get one shot and soulforge (which my DC and SW friends love), but that's far rarer than taking no health loss.
@scarabman Thank you for acknowledging this issue, it's a huge frustration for me. A cap makes sense to a certain extent, but there needs to be significant changes to the ordering of the buffs if a cap exists. First off extend the cap quite a bit, 5 is ridiculously small. Right now too screen space are eaten up by buffs…
The tact capstone would actually be really good if it triggered when hit instead of on health loss. Even when running with minimum defensive stats the group defensive bonuses make you so tanky that it's actually difficult to lose a significant amount of hitpoints in end game groups. It's extremely noticeable when a Tact in…
Are you sure? Combatant's Maneuver definitely works on control immune targets for other classes. I can get it to proc by using the appropriate skills for both CW and GF.
